Arrest for Encouraging Child Sex Abuse

On June 5, Bend Police Detectives became aware of a person inside the City of Bend downloading known images depicting child pornography. The investigation revealed the images were downloaded at a residence in the 19000 block of Brookside Way. Further investigation identified a local school teacher, Jason Jackson, as a possible suspect.
On June 6, Bend Police Detectives executed a search warrant at Jackson’s residence. Jackson had been in contact with Bend Police Detectives during the search warrant and was identified as the suspect who had downloaded the images in question.
Administration with the Bend-La Pine Schools was notified of Jackson’s involvement in the case and his arrest. Bend-La Pine Schools immediately placed Jackson on Administrative Leave.
Jackson was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail, where he was lodged on one count of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree and one count of Attempted Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree. Bend Police are continuing the investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
