Fatal Motorcycle Crash OR-74 Morrow County

On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at about 2:18PM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on OR-74 at milepost 22. The preliminary investigation revealed that a purple, 2005 Harley Davidson, FXD motorcycle, operated by Gordon Wayne Smith, age 68, of Boardman was traveling east bound on OR-74 failed to negotiate a curve in the Hwy and veered off of the road. Mr. Smith suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OR-74 was closed for approximately 3 hours following the crash. OSP was assisted by the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, Ione Ambulance, Heppner Ambulance and ODOT.
