Toledo Teenager Killed in Crash

On August 3, 2018 at 2:42 AM, the Oregon State Police and first responders were dispatched to a single vehicle fatal crash on SR Hwy 229 near milepost 31.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Carter Worden (age 14 from Toledo) was traveling southbound on Hwy 229. The vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck a tree on the eastside of the highway. Investigator learned Worden, who resided with grandparents, had taken one of their vehicles during the night.

Oregon State Police was assisted by Toledo Fire & Rescue, Toledo Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
