Rescue personnel were on scene within minutes and determined the pedestrian was deceased. Medford Police Detectives and Traffic Officers were summoned to the scene. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian was struck by a 1998 Peterbilt dump truck which was traveling north on N. Phoenix Road, in the far right lane. The pedestrian was identified as Scott Deusebio, 49 years old, who lived in the 3500 block of Michael Park Drive, which is very close to the scene of the crash. Detectives believe Deusebio committed suicide.
