Colorado Male Arrested For Luring A Minor In Beaverton

On February 26, 2019 Fort Collins Police officers in Fort Collins, Colorado arrested 47-year-old Jason Allan Surprise regarding his luring of a minor from Beaverton.

On January 25th BPD officers started investigating Mr. Surprise after his online conversations with a 14-year-old Beaverton youth came to light.  The youth and their parents reported the inappropriate conversations to BPD.  The extremely graphic conversations led officers to believe Mr. Surprise wished to have a sexual relationship with the youth.  Records showed Mr. Surprise was a registered sex offender living in Fort Collins, Colorado. 

On February 14th a Washington County Grand Jury heard testimony in regards to this case.  The Grand Jury indicted Mr. Surprise on 2 counts of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct (Measure 11) and 4 counts of Luring a Minor.

On February 26th, a BPD detective and Fort Collins Police officers served a search warrant at Mr. Surprise’s residence in the 1700 block of Azelea Drive Fort Collins, Colorado.  Evidence from Mr. Surprise’s home was seized and Mr. Surprise was taken into custody during the search warrant.  Mr. Surprise was taken to Larimer County Jail and is awaiting extradition.
