Man arrested for Public Indecency Incident on Bus

This afternoon, November 17, Eugene Police arrested Hobson Mathew Mason, age 41, after identifying him as a suspect in an incident on an LTD bus that occurred on November 5, around 3 p.m. A man was reported to have boarded the bus and while there in the presence of juveniles, touched himself inappropriately in front of a juvenile female while staring at her. A Eugene Police Patrol officer began working diligently to identify the suspect and together with LTD security identified him as Mason. 


Mason is a registered sex offender and has not recently registered. He also had previously been trespassed from the bus. The officer alerted the department’s other officers that he was seeking Mason. Mason was located today and the officer working the case investigated further and arrested Mason on two counts of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (one felony and one misdemeanor), Public Indecency (felony), Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Interfering with Public Transportation.
