Police Investigating Shooting

Salem Police Dept.  - 04/29/18  On April 29, 2018 at approximately 6:00 pm, the Salem Police Department received a call of a shooting. Officers responded to the 900 block of Vineyard Ave NE and located an adult female who had been shot. Due to her injuries the female was transported by medics to the Salem Hospital. Officers secured the scene and detectives were called in. At this time no suspects are in custody. This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be released when more information becomes available.

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/29/18  On April 29, 2018 at 9:30am the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office arrested JOSHUA SEAN PURDUE in the area of NE 60th Avenue and NE Prescott Street in Portland.  PURDUE was taken into custody without incident, and will be lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on a Probation Violation detainer.  Additional charges may be filed pending the completion of the investigation into PURDUE's escape from custody on April 28, 2018.  No additional information related to this arrest will be released at this time. Inmate Walks Away From Work Crew

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/28/18  On April 28, 2018 at 3:20pm a Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Work Crew was working near SW 12th Avenue and SW Morrison Street in downtown Portland.  At that time, the work crew deputy supervising the group notified dispatch that inmate JOSHUA SEAN PURDUE had walked away. Law Enforcement personnel from the Portland Police Bureau and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene to begin searching for PURDUE while the remainder of the inmates were secured. PURDUE remains at large at this time.  PURDUE is described as a white male, 34 years of age, 5’10” tall and weighs 180 pounds.  He has brown hair and blue eyes. Oregon State Police Investigating Multiple Deer that were shot with Arrows

Oregon State Police  - 04/28/18  On April 27, 2018 Central Point Fish and Wildlife Troopers were called to the Shady Cove area to investigate a live deer that had been shot with an arrow which was still stuck in the deer. The troopers and ODFW responded in an effort to investigate and possibly tranquilize the deer to be able to remove the arrow.  Information learned was that the deer was able to feed and walk around.  They were unable to locate the deer.  A trooper responded later that evening and found not one, but two deer that had arrows protruding from them.  The injuries to the deer did not appear to be life threatening.  Additional information was received that there might actually be a third deer with an arrow stuck in it.  A reward is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association through the Turn-in-Poachers (TIP) program for any information leading to an arrest in this or any other wildlife case. Oregon State Police - 04/28/18 5:14 PM Missing La Grande Man Found Safe

Oregon State Police  - 04/28/18  On Saturday, April 28, 2018, at approximately 10:15 AM, OSP was notified that the missing CMV driver, Jacob Aaron CARTWRIGHT had returned home and was en-route to Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande for medical evaluation.  An OSP Senior Trooper from the La Grande Area Command responded to the hospital and positively identified CARTWRIGHT. CARTWRIGHT informed the Trooper that he had encountered snow and mud on the roadway and his vehicle combination began to slide toward a steep embankment.  CARTWRIGHT was unsure of the name of the location where this occurred but provided information that a road that he had traveled onto began with a “G.”  Forest Service Road 51, which is also known as Grande Ronde River Road, is located approximately 1.5 miles east of the area of the last known GPS location the night that CARTWRIGHT went missing.  Forest Service Road 51 travels south of State Route 244 near milepost 35.  With this new information, an OSP aircraft

Oregon City Police Seeking Public's Assistance in Identifying ID Theft Suspect

Oregon City Police Dept.  - 04/28/18  The Oregon City Police Department is looking for the public's assitance in identifying an ID theft suspect.  On March 31st, 2018 at around 6:23 a.m. an unknown male suspect attempted to purchase tools using a stolen credit card from the Home Depot located at 2002 Washington St. in Oregon City, Oregon. The suspect is a white male adult, who at the time was wearing black pants and a black and gray stripped long sleeve shirt.  The suspect is also associated with a blue or dark colored Ford Econoline van. Anyone who might have information about the suspect are encouraged to call the Oregon City Tip Line at 503-496-1616.

Critical Injury Crash on Highland Ave; One Airlifted to Hospital

Redmond Police Dept.  - 04/28/18  Redmond, OR – On April 27, 2018, at approximately 1:53 PM, Redmond Police Officers, and fire personnel from Redmond Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a reported head-on two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on SW Highland Ave near SW 31st Street.  While Officers were responding, additional information received by Deschutes County 911 Dispatch indicated one of the drivers was not breathing and unconscious. Redmond Police Officers arrived on scene to find the driver of a small passenger vehicle with ineffective breathing and was still unconscious.  The driver was being tended to by several people who had stopped at the scene.  Officers quickly and correctly determined the driver need to be removed from the vehicle to perform life-saving measures.  Officers and off-duty out of the area medically trained individuals rendered aid until relieved by Redmond Fire & Rescue medic who arrived later.  Life Flight was dispatched to the scene and l

Babysitter receives prison sentence for burning 10 month old baby boy

Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office  - 04/27/18  Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced a prison sentence for a 22 year old man convicted of the assault and criminal mistreatment of a 10 month old baby boy. On April 27, 2018, Sean Anthony Middleton appeared before Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Eric L. Dahlin and pleaded guilty to one count of felony criminal mistreatment in the first degree and two counts of assault in the third degree. The defendant was immediately sentenced to 18 months in prison for the criminal mistreatment conviction and received a 14 month concurrent prison sentence on one of the assault charges. On the other assault charge, the defendant received 60 months of formal probation. As part of the sentencing, upon the defendant’s release from prison, he will remain on 36 months of post-prison supervision. Single Vehicle Crash in the Umatilla National Forest results in the death of a Stanfield man

Oregon State Police  - 04/27/18  On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at approximately 10:32am Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on the Texas Bar Road in the Umatilla National Forest, near MP 4. Preliminary investigation showed the 2009 Ford F150 operated by Randy JONES, age 53, of Stanfield was  westbound on the Texas Bar Road when the vehicle left the roadway and traveled approximately 360-400 feet down a steep embankment before coming to rest on its top, in the North Fork John Day River.  JONES received fatal injuries due to the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. JONES was properly restrained in the vehicle and was not ejected.  Grant County water rescue secured the vehicle and confirmed his presence before vehicle was moved.  Speed is being considered as a possible contributing factor.  The deputy medical examiner on scene believed the crash occurred the morning of the 26th.
