Newport Police Dept.  - 08/20/18   On August 19, 2018, at 8:00pm, the Newport Police Department responded to a condominium complex on NW Alpine Street on a reported armed home invasion robbery. The complainant reported a suspect had forced his way into a residence with a handgun and told the occupants of the house to leave.   Officers arrived and observed the suspect was still in the residence. Officers surrounded the residence, and the suspect fled out a back door to a nearby vehicle. Officers confronted the suspect as he began to drive from the area.  The suspect was detained and taken into custody without incident.  The suspect was identified as Scott Patrick Lemmon, 27, of Newport. Further investigation revealed Lemmon had rang the doorbell to the residence and when the victim answered the door, Lemmon pressed a handgun against the victim’s forehead and told the victim and his wife to vacate the residence. Sheriff's Office arrests Molalla man for shooting dog

Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 08/20/18  Please reference CCSO Case # 18-22976 On Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported animal complaint on the 15700 block of S. Highway 211 in Molalla.  The reporting party told dispatchers that her dog Rudy was missing -- and that her neighbor,  Preston L. Gorbett , claimed to have shot the animal, a Golden Retreiver. Deputies arrived at the scene and interviewed the suspect and witnesses. They determined that Preston L. Gorbett had shot Rudy in the face with a 44 Magnum handgun and that probable cause existed to arrest Gorbett on charges of Aggravated Animal Abuse in the First Degree. Preston Gorbett was taken into custody and transported to Clackamas County Jail. His booking photo is attached. Rudy was transported to a local animal hospital, where he is expected to survive. 44 Cars Damaged

Beaverton Police Dept.  - 08/20/18  On August 19, 2018 at 5:15 a.m. Beaverton Police officers responded to the report of criminal mischief in the 15000 block of SW Millikan Way.  Officers located 44 vehicles and several buildings that had been damaged by graffiti.  A witness found several juveniles spray painting cars and chased them.  The juveniles were last seen near TV Hwy/SW 153rd.  If anyone has information about this incident or the suspects please call 503-629-0111 and speak to a Beaverton officer.

Suspect Arrested, Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Gun Seized Saturday Afternoon in Portland's Kenton Neighborhood

Portland Police Bureau  - 08/19/18  On Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 4:59 p.m., North Precinct officers attempted to stop the driver of a white 1994 Acura Integra near the intersection of North Winchell Street and North Fenwick Avenue after observing the driver commit multiple traffic violations. After the officers turned on the emergency lights and siren to their marked patrol vehicle, the driver of the vehicle sped away. Based on the officers' observations at the time the driver fled, the officers decided not to pursue the suspect. Additional officers were requested to assist in a search for the vehicle and suspect in the surrounding blocks. As officers searched the neighborhood they found the Acura stopped straddling a sidewalk in the 1700 block of North Farragut Avenue. Officers also observed the suspect running from the Acura. Salem Police arrest driver in fatal crash

Salem Police Dept.  - 08/19/18 On Sunday, August 19, 2018 at approximately 12:20 a.m.. Eduardo de la Lima Vargas age 39 of Hubbard, was driving a pickup truck pulling an occupied horse trailer westbound on Highway 22/ Mission Street SE when he ran a red light and struck a motorcycle, killing both of it's riders. The motorcycle had been attempting to turn eastbound onto Highway 22/Mission Street SE from the I-5 southbound off-ramp when it was struck. The collision threw both riders from the motorcycle and lodged it under the truck, causing both vehicles to catch fire.  The riders were transported to Salem Health, but were pronounced deceased shortly after their arrival. Their identities are not being released pending next of kin notification. The vehicle fire was extinguished and the horse was safely removed from the trailer. Two Arrested After Crash

Beaverton Police Dept.  - 08/19/18    On August 18, 2018 at 9:05 p.m. Beaverton Police officers attempted to stop a 2018 Mercedes near SW Canyon/SW 110th.  A witness reported the occupants of the vehicle had stolen hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from Kohl’s. A short vehicle pursuit ensued and the driver of the suspect vehicle crashed into a concrete divider near Hwy 26/Sylvan.  Two of the occupants fled the vehicle as officers took one occupant into custody.  A K9 track was able to locate one of the occupants who fled.  The third occupant was not located. 40-Year-old Jessica Marie Jones, from Vancouver, WA, was charged with Attempting to Elude Felony, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree and 3 counts of Identity Theft.  22-Year-old Katelyn Noell Johnson, from Vancouver, WA, was charged with Theft in the Second Degree, Attempting to Elude Misdemeanor and PCS Methamphetamine.  Officers located the stolen items from Kohl’s, drugs, and evidence of iden

Woman Arrested on Multiple Charges After Vehicle Pursuit

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office  - 08/19/18  August 19, 2018 – A woman was arrested on multiple charges after a vehicle pursuit that ended with a car on its top outside a Hillsboro business complex. No one was injured. On Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:40 p.m., a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the Traffic Safety Unit attempted to stop a 1995 Honda Civic that was driving recklessly and without headlights in the area of NW 185th Avenue and Walker Road in Hillsboro. The driver did not stop and instead drove recklessly in an attempt to elude deputies. The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes before the Honda struck a curb, a tree and lost control outside a business complex in the 3600 block of NW John Olsen Place in Hillsboro. The car ultimately landed on its top. Fortunately, no one was injured. The driver was identified as Cathie F. Ropati, 22, of Hillsboro. Fire Operations Threatened by Drone

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 08/18/18  08/16/2018 Trail, Ore. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking information relating to an incident which took place at a location known as Burnt Peak which falls within the Miles Fire.  An unknown suspect flew a drone over a helicopter which was dumping water on the fire.  This incident posed a significant safety risk to the helicopter and ground crews, and effectively caused a stoppage to air operations in the area.  There is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) over all wild fires, including the Miles Fire, due to the complex and hazardous work being done there.  Potential crimes include Reckless Endangering, Interfering with a Firefighter, as well as possible penalties from the FAA.  Any information about this incident can be reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, attention Deputy Lance. 541-774-6800

Detectives Seek Information About Assault Suspect

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 08/18/18  GARDINER, Ore.  – Douglas County Emergency Communications received a 9-1-1 call at about 1:15 pm on Thursday reporting an assault on Sparrow Park Road. Deputies arrived and contacted an adult female who had been sleeping in her vehicle along the roadway. The female told deputies she awoke to find an unknown male adult sexually molesting her. The male left after the forcible incident.  The female was transported to an undisclosed hospital and later released. Detectives responded and began an investigation, which is still ongoing. The male suspect has not yet been identified or located. Detectives are asking for anyone who was on Sparrow Park Road on Thursday to contact them at (541) 440-4471. Motorcyclist dies in crash with semi-truck on Hwy 205 (Harney County)

Oregon State Police  - 08/18/18 On Tuesday August 14, 2018 at approximately 3:25 pm, a semi-truck with two trailers loaded with hay, operated by Randolph Pointere (67) of Hines, OR. was traveling north on Highway 205 near milepost 2. Pointere was turning left onto Hotchkiss Ln. when a motorcycle, operated by David McNeill (74) of Bellingham, WA. attempted to pass the semi-truck. The motorcycle slid under the first semi-trailer before coming to a stop.. The semi-truck and trailers were able to stop without running over McNeill. McNeill was transported to Harney District Hospital and then transported by air to Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho.  On August 15, 2018 at approximately 9:30 PM McNeill died from his injuries sustained in the crash. Pointere was not injured and the semi-truck was driven from the scene. OSP was assisted by EMS, Burns Fire, Burns PD, Hines PD, ODOT and the Harney County Sheriffs office.
