MCSO Seeks Help Locating Missing Elderly Woman

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/16/18  The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating 76-year-old MARIE HELENA EVANS.  Ms. EVANS was last seen on 12/15/18 while walking near her residence at 13004 NW Marina Way in northwest Multnomah County.  It is unknown what clothing Ms. EVANS was wearing when she left for her walk. Ms. EVANS suffers from early onset dementia and wears glasses.  She is 5'4" tall, weighs 150 pounds and has white hair. If anyone has information on Ms. EVANS whereabouts, please call 503-823-3333 and reference MCSO case number 18-66527.

Passenger dies in high speed crash near Junction City - Lane County

Oregon State Police  - 12/16/18   On Saturday, December 15, 2018 at approximately 10:07 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 99W near milepost 114. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Honda Accord operated by, Saucedo Salvador-Mendez (21) of Cheshire was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed and collided with the back of a southbound 2011 Ford F350 PU operated by, Peter Haag (20) of Junction City.   The front seat passenger in the Honda Accord, Francisco Jose Perez-Velasco (33) of Corvallis, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The rear passenger in the Honda Accord, Chase Pomaikai Kealoha (21) of Junction City, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries - not transported to the hospital. Salvador-Mendez was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and treated for injuries.  Haag sustained minor injuries

Sex Abuse Arrest

Linn County Sheriff's Office  - 12/15/18  Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports on December 13, 2018, his Detectives arrested Eric Wayne Dille, 46 of Mill City, for one count of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Eric Dille was arrested after video evidence implicated him in these crimes, which occurred several years prior.  The victim in this case is an adult female, known by Eric Dille, and was incapacitated at the time the crimes occurred. Video evidence leads investigators believe there are other female victims.  Anyone with information about this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Mike Rossiter of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 541-967-3950.

Sexual Assault Investigation and Search Warrant

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/14/18 On December 11, 2018,  the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Eric Jonsson. The Sheriff’s Office received reports from two females believing they had been drugged and sexually assaulted by Jonsson. During the investigation, Sheriff’s Office Detectives obtained evidence and information allowing them to obtain a search warrant for Jonsson and his residence. On December 13, 2018,  at approximately 2231 hours, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives executed a search warrant at Jonsson’s residence. The search warrant was executed using the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. The SWAT team attempted to get Jonsson to exit the residence for over 30 minutes without success. During this time the SWAT team utilized two noise/flash diversionary devices causing very loud bangs in the area. ATV Rollover

Jefferson Fire Dist.  - 12/14/18  Today 1:21 p.m. Jefferson Fire District was dispatched to an ATV rollover near Parrish Gap Rd., Jefferson, Oregon. Upon arrival, Division Chief Louis Gisler, was informed a hunter was riding a ATV up the side of a hill and had rolled it. He was located approximately 1 mile up the side of a steep hill. Due to the rough terrain, a few firefighter/paramedics started hiking up to the patient. At the same time, Albany Fire was dispatched with a sport utility side by side. Albany arrived and assisted with Jefferson fire personnel to get the patient off the side of the hill and to a nearby landing zone where they met Life Flight Network to transport the patient to a local hospital.

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/14/18  UPDATE - 01/04/2019 Linda Rene Smith has been located by Sheriff's Detectives in the State of Washington. She left the area on her own accord and is safe.  Smith was previously reported missing on December 11, 2018. ROSEBURG, Ore . - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking information as to the whereabouts of 60 year-old Linda Rene Smith of Roseburg.  Smith was reported as a missing person to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office by her roommate on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. At that time, a deputy took a report and entered Smith into a national law enforcement database as missing. Efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful.   It is reported Smith left her home in the Green District in a white panel van with an unknown license plate on Saturday, December 8th around 3:00 pm with a male companion. Smith had informed her roommate that she would be gone for a few days, but has not yet returned and has not been he

Two vehicle head on crash on Hwy 20 - Linn County

Oregon State Police  - 12/14/18   On Thursday, December 13, 2018 at approximately 5:48 PM Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle, head on collision, on Hwy 20 near milepost 4. Preliminary investigation revealed a  Chevrolet Cobalt, operated by Jane Dunn (64) of Albany, was westbound on Hwy 20 when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe, operated by Kelly Blodgett (40) of Corvallis.   Dunn was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  Blodgett was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  An adult passenger and 4 juvenile children in the Tahoe were not injured. Hwy 20 was partially closed for approximately three hours.  OSP was assisted by the Albany Fire Department and ODOT.  

Single vehicle fatal crash on Hwy 140 - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  - 12/14/18  On Thursday, December 13, 2018, at approximately 5:00PM, a Jeep SUV was traveling eastbound on Highway 140 near milepost 30 in Jackson County when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and collided with a tree. The female driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Winter weather conditions in the area contributed to the collision.   Oregon State Police was assisted by ODOT, Lake Creek Rural Fire, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The phone rings, it is answered and the person on the other end of the telephone identifies themselves as a law enforcement officer and tells the person that they have missed jury duty, failed to pay some fines, or they have a warrant for their arrest. Eventually, the caller states it can be cleared up by paying fees or fines in the form of Western Union, pre-loaded debit cards or gift cards.   HANG UP! IT IS A SCAM!   The Sheriff's Office has been receiving several calls from members of the community reporting they have received such calls from people claiming to work for the Sheriff's Office. Pedestrian hit crossing Interstate 5 in Central Point - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  - 12/13/18  On Thursday, December 13, 2018 at approximately 6:15 A.M. Richard Drew Wilson (26) of Eagle Point attempted to cross the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Exit 33 interchange in Central Point.  Visibility in the area was limited by darkness and dense fog.  Wilson was struck by a northbound Nissan Xterra driven by Jeri Renee Wiggins (52) of Medford.  Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Oregon State Police was assisted by ODOT, Jackson County Fire District 3, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.  I-5 northbound was reduced to a single lane of travel for approximately three hours.

Lane County man convicted of illegally taken trophy mule deer buck

Oregon State Police  - 12/13/18  In 2015,  Kevin Howard Noel reported taking an 8-pt mule deer buck in the Steens Mountain Unit during archery season with a valid archery deer tag.  He subsequently presented the buck at a Northwest sportsman show for measurement, resulting in placing 1st that year for Non-Typical Archery Mule Deer, and 8th all-time in the state of Oregon. In May 2018, while Noel was being investigated for other crimes, the Oregon State Police received credible information that Noel had actually killed the record buck with a rifle, instead of a bow, as required by his tag.  Fish & Wildlife troopers with the Springfield Command of the Oregon State Police initiated an investigation, resulting in seizure of the mount and arrest of Noel in Lane County for  Unlawful Possession of Mule Deer Buck Parts . On November 28, 2018 a Lane County jury found Noel guilty of that offense.  On December 5, 2018, Lane County Circuit Court Judge Debra Velure sentenced Noel to thre

Search Warrant Leads to Location of Psilocybin Mushroom Grow

Bend Police Dept.  - 12/12/18 On December 11th 2018, Officers with the Bend Police Department received information that Bend resident, Denver Lee, was growing and selling Psilocybin Mushrooms. Using the information received, Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for Lee’s residence. On December 12th 2018, Officers with the Bend Police Department served a search warrant at 1010 NW Portland Avenue #4. During the warrant, Officers located Psilocybin Mushrooms in various stages of growth. Officers also located evidence of delivery and distribution of Psilocybin Mushrooms. Officers contacted and arrested Lee during the execution of the warrant. Lee was transferred to the Deschutes County Jail where he was booked on the following charges. Jacksonville woman dies in three vehicle crash near Jacksonville - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  - 12/12/18  On Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at approximately 5:56 PM Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a multi vehicle crash on Hwy 238 near milepost 38 in Jackson County. Preliminary investigation reveals that Charles Redlingshafer (21) of Central Point was operating a 1989 Ford PU towing a trailer loaded with hay, he lost control of the trailer and crashed into a Geo Metro (driver to be identified later) and a 1987 Toyota PU, operated by Nancy Asman (66) of Jacksonville. Asman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Geo sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Redlingshafer was not injured. Hwy 238 was closed for approximately 9 hours for investigation and recovery of vehicles. OSP was assisted by Applegate Valley Fire District, Mercy Flights, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Jacksonville Police Department, and ODOT.

Lebanon Man Falls Down Embankment to River

Lebanon Fire District  - 12/12/18  A 71-year-old Lebanon man fell down a 40-foot embankment and into the South Santiam River on Wednesday afternoon near the Mark’s Slough Trail. A bystander noticed a dog pacing near the edge of the embankment and took a closer look to find the male and another dog clinging to the embankment at the water’s edge. The Lebanon Fire District responded and initiated a low-angle rope rescue of the victim, who was in stable condition but unable to stand or walk due to fatigue and hypothermia. Firefighters used ropes and mechanical advantage systems to lower rescuers to the victim, load the man into a Stokes basket, and then haul the victim and rescuers up the embankment. The male was transported to Lebanon Community Hospital for treatment of hypothermia. The dogs were given a ride home by their human mom. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT)  - 12/12/18  In the late night hours of Tuesday, December 11th, 2018, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested 37 year old Victor Haines, of Roseburg. Detectives, with the help of the Sutherlin Police Department, initiated a traffic stop on Haines in the 200 block of S. State Street in Sutherlin just before midnight.  A search of the vehicle revealed over 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine as well as scales and other drug paraphernalia.   Haines was transported to the Douglas County Jail where he was lodged on the charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, and Probation Violation.

Deputies Seek Tips on Missing Persons

The public is urged to report any possible sightings of either individual or vehicle. ROSEBURG, Ore.  - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking tips from the public regarding two missing person cases, which came in over the weekend. The two cases are not related.  79 year-old Terry Leland Dodds left his residence on Azalea Glen Road in Glendale on December 8th at approximately 8:00 pm in a maroon 2004 Dodge 2500 pickup with a canopy/camper bearing Oregon license plate D65290. Dodds suffers from a medical issue which may leave him in a confused state of mind. He is traveling with a small tan dog as pictured in the attached photograph and may be traveling to an unknown destination in California. Dodds is described as 6'02'' tall, 180 lbs with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket.   77 year-old Geraldine Donn

Injury Crash at NW 43rd St/NW Lower Bridge Way

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/11/18 On December 11, 2018, at 1:48 pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of NW 43rd Street and NW Lower Bridge Drive, west of Terrebonne.  The crash involved two vehicles and an ambulance was needed at the scene. Deputies arrived to find the driver of the white Pontiac Sunfire, Cynthia K. Marshall, inside her vehicle and unable to self-extricate.  Redmond Fire and Crooked River Ranch Fire responded and worked quickly to extricate Marshall from her vehicle.  Marshall was then transported by a Crooked River Ranch Fire ambulance to St. Charles Health System in Redmond with serious injuries. An investigation determined Marshall was stopped at the stop sign on NW 43rd Street waiting for an approaching westbound vehicle from the east.  As the approaching westbound vehicle slowed and prepared to turn on NW 43rd, Marshall pulled away from the stop sign to make an eastb

Vehicle and Foot Chase Ends with Sutherlin Man in Custody

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/11/18 ROSEBURG, Ore. -  A 27 year-old Sutherlin man was lodged in the Douglas County Jail yesterday after trying to elude deputies in a stolen vehicle. Around 1:00 PM, on Monday, December 10th, DINT investigators observed a white Acura on Interstate 5 near milepost 121, which had previously been reported stolen. A Sheriff's Deputy was in the area and was able to catch up to the stolen car near milepost 125 on the freeway. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Mulholland and Cecil in Roseburg, at which point the suspect attempted to elude the deputy. The pursuit ended near the overpass on Stewart Parkway Road near the airport, where the suspect attempted to flee on foot. The deputy and DINT investigators chased the suspect near the freeway and eventually took him into custody. SAR Finds Missing Snowboarder Alive

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/11/18  ASHLAND, Ore. – A Medford man who spent two nights in the elements on Mt. Ashland was found alive Tuesday morning.  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) search and rescue (SAR) officials say snowboarder Eli Kepsel, 27, was cold but in good spirits when rescuers found him just before 10:30 a.m. on December 11, 2018. “This is the best outcome we could have hoped for,” said JCSO Sergeant Shawn Richards. A SAR team from Klamath County was patrolling US Forest Service Road 2060 north of the Mt. Ashland Ski Area when Kepsel appeared from the hillside above the road.  Kepsel was cold and hungry, but he was able to walk and talk to rescuers. The SAR team provided Kepsel with food and water and brought him to a waiting ambulance operated by Ashland Fire & Rescue.  Kepsel was reunited with his parents, and then transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center to be evaluated for hypothermia. American Red Cross - Cascades Region  - 12/10/18  Disaster responders with the local chapter of the American Red Cross were dispatched to a home fire disaster on Monday, December 10, 2018 at approximately 1735 hours in the 200 block of South Schoneman Street, Coos Bay, Or. This multi-family fire affected 4 adults and 7 children. The  Red Cross provides resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits including toiletry items, along with information about recovery services and health and mental health services as needed. Additional information about this incident if available, may be obtained from the local first responding agency/fire department. Family Rescued in Stuck Vehicle

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18 On 12/09/2018, at about 2010 hours, Deschutes County 911 received a call from a stuck motorist, who reported he and his family were stuck in the snow near East Lake. The reporting person and operator of the vehicle, Soren Smith, advised he and three family members to include two juveniles had gone to the area to cut a Christmas tree and had gotten stuck in their 4x4 pickup. Smith’s intention was to drive on FS road 21 past East Lake to go home after finding their Christmas tree earlier on the 9710 road. Smith advised they left home at about 1530 hours and become stuck at about 1945 hours. Smith believed they would be able to stay warm since the vehicle had a half tank of gas and they were dressed for the weather, had water with them, but no extra food. The snow depth was reported to be about a foot and a half and it was currently snowing. The family had not brought shovels or any other implement to assist them after becoming stuck in the

Motorcycle Pursuit

Newport Police Dept.  - 12/10/18  On 12/07/18, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Newport Police Officers attempted to stop a motorcyclist for traffic violations near the intersection of S Coast Hwy and SW Case St.  When Officers activated their emergency lights to conduct the traffic stop, the motorcycle quickly accelerated southbound on S Coast Hwy leading the Officers on a pursuit. Officers observed the motorcyclist speeding through traffic at speeds estimated between 80 mph and 90 mph over the Yaquina Bay Bridge.  Officers lost sight of the motorcycle and terminated the pursuit.  A short time later, Officers were notified by a passing motorist that the motorcycle had crashed near the intersection of S Coast Hwy and SE 32nd St.  Officers responded to the area and located a male subject walking away from the area.  The male was identified as 21 Year Old, Jason Avery of Newport. Jefferson High School Incident (Jefferson, Oregon)

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18  Today at 9:49 a.m. , deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the baseball fields adjacent to Jefferson High School.  When deputies arrived they found a 17 year old male who died from a gunshot wound. Deputies are investigating the death as a suicide. Jefferson High School was placed into a lockdown and remained in that capacity until students were released from school at 1:00 p.m.  The Sheriff’s office is being assisted on scene by the Jefferson Fire Department, Marion County District Attorney’s Office and the Marion county Medical Examiner’s Office.     This is a very tragic situation and law enforcement is working closely with the school district to address any needs of the students and the community.   The Sheriff’s Office does not intend to release the name of the student and there are no additional details available for release. 

Deputies Investigate Two Fatal Crashes Saturday

Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18 JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – Two Jackson County men died in separate crashes not far from their homes Saturday.  A Talent man died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Adams Road.  A Medford man died Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on West Griffin Creek Road. On December 8, 2018, at 9:17 a.m., a passer-by reported finding a vehicle crashed near the intersection of Adams Road and Beeson Lane (Case #18-25595).  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the vehicle had apparently failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection, left the roadway, and overturned on an embankment.  The roadway was wet at the time of the investigation, however deputies do no know if weather or roadway factors contributed to the crash. Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18  ASHLAND, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) search and rescue (SAR) teams are searching for a missing snowboarder.  Eli Kepsel, 27, went to Mt. Ashland on Sunday morning and has not returned. On Monday, December 10, 2018, at 9:26 a.m., a family member called to report Kepsel was missing.  Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol members found Kepsel’s vehicle was still parked at the ski area. SAR staff and volunteers are actively checking likely routes on the mountain beyond the ski area.  SAR staff would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Kepsel since Sunday morning in order to help focus the search. Kepsel’s snowboard has a blue bottom and his coat is a bright yellow-green color.  He is five feet, nine inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.  He has brown hair and brown eyes. Deputies Seek Tips on Missing Persons

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18 ROSEBURG, Ore.  - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking tips from the public regarding two missing person cases, which came in over the weekend. The two cases are not related.  79 year-old Terry Leland Dodds left his residence on Azalea Glen Road in Glendale on December 8th at approximately 8:00 pm in a maroon 2004 Dodge 2500 pickup with a canopy/camper bearing Oregon license plate D65290. Dodds suffers from a medical issue which may leave him in a confused state of mind. He is traveling with a small tan dog as pictured in the attached photograph and may be traveling to an unknown destination in California. Dodds is described as 6'02'' tall, 180 lbs with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket.   77 year-old Geraldine Donna Galer of Oakland was last seen driving a gray 2002 GMC Safari Van bearing Oregon license plate YRC203. She has a medical condition which may leave her in a confus

Amazon Delivery Driver Arrested After Bait Package Activation

Sheriff's Office  - 12/10/18  On Sunday, December 9, 2018, at 6:40 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an alarm activation from a bait package at a residence near Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway and Southwest 170th Avenue in Aloha. Deputies converged on the area and, within five minutes of being dispatched, used GPS technology to track the stolen package to a black 2015 Nissan Altima in the area. When questioned, the driver of the vehicle admitted to stealing the bait package from a porch. He disclosed that he delivers for Amazon and had stolen the bait package while he was delivering another shipment to the same address. Deputies located a total of 18 Amazon packages inside the suspect’s vehicle that were awaiting delivery. Perez Johnson, 29 of Portland, was arrested for theft in the second degree and booked at the Washington County Jail. Deputies personally delivered the remaining packages that had been found inside the suspect

Suspect in Friday Evening Investigation Identified and Lodged at Multnomah County Jail

Portland Police Bureau  - 12/08/18  The 34-year-old suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting on Friday, December 7, 2018, has been released from an area hospital and lodged in the Multnomah County Jail. Ryan Joseph Beisley was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on a United States Marshal Hold.
