SEARCH WARRANT SERVED FOR AN ILLEGAL MARIJUANA OPERATION

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On Thursday, October 7, 2021, members of Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) in partnership with Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (Grants Pass DPS, OSP), and Josephine County Code Enforcement; served a search warrant relating to an illegal marijuana grow operation in the 4000 of Linda Lane outside of Grants Pass.    During the execution of the search warrant, 445 illegal marijuana plants were seized and destroyed. Additionally, approximately 100 pounds of processed marijuana was seized and destroyed.    Litan Dobrinov, 24, was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Manufacture of a Marijuana Item and Unlawful Possession of a Marijuana Item.  Radoslav Nikolov, 35, was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Manufacture of a Marijuana Item and Unlawful Possession of a Marijuana Item.  At the time of this press release, the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released.

MARIJUANA SEIZURE

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, members of the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team executed a search warrant at a large scale illicit marijuana growing operation in the 9000 block of Days Creek Cutoff Road in Canyonville.  The activity was being conducted on two parcels of historical farmland along the South Umpqua River just a few miles east of Canyonville.  There were two residences involved along with numerous outbuildings, RV's, and barns.   The operation consisted of more than 100 “hoop house” style greenhouses, most of which were full of illegal marijuana. Police officers contacted and interviewed numerous individuals at the scene, most of which were low level immigrant workers who were released.  31 year old Carlos Flores Santacruz, who lives at the site, was arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana.       In total, DINT seized over 66,000 live marijuana plan

MASSIVE ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROW OPERATION SHUT DOWN IN NORTH PLAINS

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiations Team, assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, executed a search warrant at 13275 NW Jackson School Road in North Plains. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office  Westside Interagency Narcotics  (WIN) team. The property is a 29-acre lot with a 6,000 sq ft house, a 5,000 sq ft barn, and a 13,000 sq ft horse arena, all converted to facilitate the illegal marijuana grow operation.  Investigators located and seized over 800 pounds of dried marijuana, 5,719 marijuana plants, an estimated $500,000 in grow equipment, and $22,000 in U.S. currency. The estimated street value of drugs removed from distribution was over $6.5 million. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WITH A MACHETE

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office LCSO Case #21-5668 On 10/06/21 at approximately 1357hrs the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of an assault that occurred at a residence in the 18100blk of Hwy. 36 in Blachly.  A caller advised that 20 year old Ethan Wolcott attacked another person with a machete, causing multiple injuries.  Upon arrival deputies located the victim and determined him to be Wolcott’s 76 year old grandfather. The victim had multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital.  Although serious in nature, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this time. Deputies located Wolcott nearby and he was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and lodged at the Lane County Jail on the charges of Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The cause of the attack remains unknown at this time . 

OSP FISH & WILDLIFE ASKING FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN A 5-POINT ELK LEFT TO WASTE- DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On October 5, 2021, OSP Fish and Wildlife Troopers out of the Roseburg Office were notified that a 5-point bull elk was left to waste on a BLM road between Turkey Creek and Upper Cow Creek Road in South Douglas County just east of Interstate-5 and Canyon Mountain.  A preliminary investigation has revealed that the animal was shot once through the back on a gravel roadway. The vehicle of interest has large mud terrain-type tires and left the area after shooting the elk, leaving it to waste. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT LEADS TO ONE PERSON BEING SHOT

Sheriff's Office LCSO# 21-5658 On 10/05/21 at approximately 4:21pm the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a domestic dispute resulting on one person being shot in the 40000blk of Log Creek Rd. north of Marcola.  Deputies along with Troopers from the Oregon State Police responded.  Upon their arrival authorities located 42 year old Jesse Yoakum with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  A 35 year old female was also contacted inside of the residence.  Investigation revealed that Yoakum had strangled the female and attempted to hit her with a bat.  She armed herself with a handgun and shot the male one time, striking him in the shoulder. Yoakum was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is now in custody for charges including Strangulation, Menacing and Assault IV. 

BODY OF BRANDA HOYLE HAS BEEN FOUND

Sheriff's Office IDLEYLD PARK, Ore.  - Searchers have recovered the body of Branda Hoyle who went missing on Saturday, September 25, 2021. 43-year-old Branda Hoyle was on an outing with family members when she walked away from the group. When she didn't return, family became concerned and began looking for her. They later called 9-1-1 when they hadn't located her. On Monday, October 4, 2021, at approximately a 9-1-1 caller reported finding a deceased body along the North Umpqua River approximately 2.5 miles north east of the Umpqua Hot Springs on the North Umpqua Trail. Deputies and searchers responded and determined the body was that of Branda Hoyle. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death. At this time there are no indications of foul play and prolonged exposure to the elements are considered to be the highest concerning factors.  A large scale search operation had been underway since her disappearance, but revealed no clues

UPDATE- FOUND AND SAFE OSP SEEKING ASSISTANCE FOR MISSING PERSON- DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police Update Thanks to the public’s assistance, OSP received information Marco CURRIN might be at the location in Roseburg. OSP went the location to hand out flyers and found him. Marco CURRIN was found safe and sound. The Oregon State Police (OSP) Roseburg Area Command is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person. On September 28, 2021, OSP Troopers responded to an abandoned green 2006 Nissan Altima on Interstate 5 near the 108 on-ramp.  Troopers found that the Nissan was a hazard and towed the vehicle.  On September 30, 2021, it was learned that the owner of the vehicle, Marco CURRIN (51) from Olympia, Washington, was reported as a missing person.  Family from Newport Beach, California reported him missing to local authorities.  OSP personnel contacted Newport Beach Police Department to let them know that CURRIN’s vehicle had been towed.  At this time, OSP, is assisting Newport Beach Police Department in locating CURRIN.  CURRIN is described being abo

FATAL CRASH ON INTERSTATE 5-DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, October 4, 2021 at approximately 9:46 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 122. Preliminary investigation revealed a southbound Ford F150, operated by Thomas Kelly (74) of Canyonville, left the roadway for an unknown reason, struck the embankment and rolled.  Kelly sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  OSP was assisted by ODOT. 

UPDATED MISSING PERSON - JUDA JOHNSON

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office *UPDATE* Juda Johnson has been located safe and in good health.  He is no longer considered missing . LCSO Case #21-5609 The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate 22 year old Juda Johnson of Medford.  He was reported missing by family members on 10/3/21. Johnson was last observed on 09/13/21 in the Creswell area.  Johnson is possibly traveling with a white male by the name of “Bobby” in a 1970’s model Ford highboy pickup.  The pickup (depicted) is tan on the top and bottom with a lighter colored stripe along the middle.  It also has a canopy.  Johnson is described as a white male adult with black hair and blue eyes.  His hair may have blonde highlights.  He stands approximately 6’05 and weighs approximately 160lbs.  He has facial piercings and likely does not have facial hair.  Johnson may be in the McCredie Hot Springs area near Oakridge.
