White City Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Rape Suspect, Deputy Finds Processed Illegal Marijuana, Guns, Cash

Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 22-1391 WHITE CITY, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Wednesday at 2:50 pm near the intersection of Division Road and Avenue G in White City. The driver of the vehicle was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for first-degree rape out of Jackson County. The driver was taken into custody and his vehicle was impounded because he did not possess a valid driver’s license. During the impound inventory, the deputy located approximately 20 lbs. of processed illegal marijuana. Detectives from the Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) and Oregon State Police (OSP) Drug Enforcement Section responded to assist with the marijuana portion of the investigation. U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon 68 firearms and dozens of firearm components seized in raids targeting defendant PORTLAND, Ore.—A federal grand jury in Portland returned an indictment today charging a Salem, Oregon man for distributing counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl and operating the largest known privately made firearm or “ghost gun” manufacturing workshop in Oregon from the basement of his home. Tyler Ray Harnden, 29, a Salem resident, has been charged with possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and heroin, distribution of fentanyl, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Child Safe After Being Kidnapped

Tigard Police Department A 7-year-old boy is safe after he was abducted by a man at a Tigard apartment complex last night. At 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 16th, officers responded to The Fields, a complex in the 7800 block of SW Hunziker Road. Investigators learned the boy was playing outside while his mother watched him from inside her apartment. A man grabbed the boy and took him to his own apartment, where he locked the door. The mother, along with other neighbors, ran after them and kicked down the locked door. The man ran out the back door with the boy, but the child was ultimately let go. The suspect has been identified as James Harman II, 56. He was taken to the Washington County Jail charged with first-degree kidnapping, which is a Measure 11 crime. He will remain in custody pending arraignment. Based on evidence at the scene, investigators believe Harman intended to hurt the boy. Additional charges may be pending. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) In the evening hours of Tuesday, March 15th, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested 40 year old Springfield resident Dustin Iseli for multiple drug and firearm related charges.     As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives contacted, and detained Iseli in the parking lot of the truck stop at Rice Hill.  Also detained was 34 year old Springfield resident, Christina Samuel.   A search of Iseli's vehicle revealed over one pound of suspected methamphetamine, 127 grams of suspected heroin, 2000 suspected fentanyl pills, 13 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, and two loaded handguns.     Iseli was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:   Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine.   Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin.   Unlawful Possession of Sch II Subst

Junction City Police On Thursday, March 10 th , 2022 at about 1:31 PM, the Junction City Police were dispatched to an east parking lot of the Junction City High School located at 888 W. 6 th  Ave., Junction City, Oregon on a report of an unresponsive subject slumped over in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers found the subject barely breathing and began lifesaving efforts.  The subject was subsequently transported to an area hospital and his vehicle was impounded and removed from school property.  Subsequent investigation revealed the subject was identified as 54-year-old Garen Daniel Thies with a date of birth of 03/07/68.  It was also determined that Thies was a non-compliant level three registered sex offender with the Oregon State Police. LUIS ARTURO CINENCIO-GONZALEZ CONVICTED ON MULTIPLE COUNTS IN SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On March 16, 2022, Judge Andrew Erwin found Luis Arturo Cinencio-Gonzalez guilty of three counts of first-degree rape, seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse, one count of first-degree sodomy, and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse in a bench trial. Deputy District Attorney Sara Loebner prosecuted the case against the defendant.  In January of 2021, one of the defendant’s three victims reported that he abused her years prior. She also told Beaverton police that another child was abused by the defendant during the same time. Investigators contacted the second victim who confirmed the abuse and provided additional details. During the investigation, a third victim was also identified.  The first victim to come forward exchanged text messages with the defendant in which he admitted to the abuse and apologized for his actions. BANK ROBBERY

Grants Pass Police Department On Tuesday, March 15th, 2022, at 4:35 PM, the Grants Pass Police Department received a 911 phone call from Key Bank, located at 1646 Williams Hwy.  Employees at Key Bank reported the bank was just robbed by a male suspect wearing a mask and hat.  The suspect was reportedly armed and last seen on foot near Walgreens.  Police officers responded to the area, set a perimeter, and searched for the suspect.  Officers developed suspect information related to a vehicle that left the bank area.  Approximately seven minutes after the robbery occurred, officers located the suspect vehicle traveling south on Allen Creek Rd.  The suspect vehicle continued to the end of Allen Creek Rd. and turned onto Denton Trail, a dead-end road.   The vehicle's sole occupant, 46-year-old Bradley Erichsen, was contacted and taken into custody without further incident.   Subsequent investigation revealed evidence to arrest and lodge Erichsen on robbery and theft charges .

CREWS EXTINGUISH TWO-ALARM FIRE AT CONDO COMPLEX IN ALOHA

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue At 11:18 a.m., multiple callers to 911 reported flames and smoke coming from a condo unit at a complex off Britetree Circle in Aloha. Due to the description provided by callers and it being a fire at a multi-housing structure that was spreading to an adjacent unit, 911 dispatchers immediately upgraded the call to a second alarm to add additional resources. Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and Hillsboro Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the scene along with Metro West Ambulance and Washington County Sheriff’s Office.  First-incoming crews arrived within minutes to the condo complex to find heavy flames and thick smoke billowing out of both floors of two condo units with extension into the attic. Crews began aggressive fire attack measures in order to prevent further spread to the other two adjacent units. MICHAEL STUART ROSS CONVICTED OF MURDERING HIS OWN MOTHER

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On March 15, 2022, a Washington County jury convicted Michael Stuart Ross of second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Chief Deputy District Attorney Jeff Lesowski and Deputy District Attorney David Pitcher prosecuted the case against the defendant before Judge Ted Sims.  On May 10, 2018, Mr. Ross murdered his 73-year-old mother inside the Tualatin, Oregon home they shared, by stabbing her and bludgeoning her with a steel pipe. He then violently attacked his adult brother with the pipe. Fortunately, the defendant’s brother escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house where they called 9-1-1.  Tualatin police and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. FATAL CRASH ON DIAMOND LAKE BOULEVARD, ROSEBURG

Roseburg Police Dept. On March 10, 2022 at approximately 1:20 PM, the Roseburg Police Department and emergency personnel responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Diamond Lake Boulevard. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black Maserati Grand Sport, operated by Jack Corson (74) of Roseburg, was traveling eastbound on Diamond Lake Boulevard and struck pedestrian Jonathan Kurtz (75) of Glide, who was walking within the lanes of travel. Kurtz was transported to Sacred Heart at Riverbend with fatal injuries and later pronounced deceased by the Lane County M.E.  Corson was not injured and remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. The Roseburg Police Department was assisted by the Roseburg Fire Department and Umpqua Valley Ambulance.

UPDATE: ARREST MADE IN GRESHAM HOMICIDE

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—Daniel Hensley, 33, of Troutdale, was arrested on Sunday for his involvement in the shooting death that occurred just after midnight on March 11, in the 2400 block of SE 182 nd  Ave. Hensley was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Hensley was also lodged on a Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants charge for an unrelated case. The victim has been identified as Corey Monroe, 28, of Portland.   Gresham Police detectives and members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team (MCT) are continuing to investigate the incident. FORMER OREGON CORRECTIONS OFFICIAL INDICTED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A DOZEN FEMALE INMATES WHILE SERVING AS A NURSE

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A federal indictment was unsealed today charging a former Oregon Department of Corrections employee with sexually assaulting a dozen female inmates while serving as a nurse at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), Oregon’s only women’s prison. Tony Daniel Klein, 37, of Clackamas County, Oregon, is charged with 21 counts of depriving the victims of their constitutional right not to be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment by sexually assaulting them. The indictment alleges that from 2016 through 2017, Klein committed various forms of sexual assault, some of which included aggravated sexual abuse and some resulting in bodily injury. Klein is also charged with four counts of perjury for giving false testimony during a 2019 deposition related to a federal lawsuit alleging he committed sexual misconduct while serving as a corrections nurse. LANE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING CHILDREN, DISTRIBUTING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon EUGENE, Ore.—A Lane County, Oregon man was sentenced to federal prison today after sexually abusing multiple children entrusted to a daycare run by his wife, possessing thousands of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, and distributing child pornography. Eric Wade Rogers, 55, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison and five years’ supervised release. According to court documents, in June 2017, an undercover law enforcement agent was on a website commonly used to trade child pornography. While investigating another target, the agent identified two online photo albums containing photos of minor girls shared by Rogers’ account. Four days later, Rogers uploaded two more albums containing covertly-taken photos of a minor girl who appeared in the first albums. Rogers wrote various comments on the photos including “I really miss playing with her” and “hot sexy little body.” The undercover agent initiated a ruse to chat and email

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On March 12, 2022, the Josephine County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 hang up, in the 700 block of Pyle Drive. Upon arrival, deputies located multiple victims tied up, with others fleeing on foot through the wooded area. During the investigation, deputies found that approximately eight Hispanic males arrived at the location, armed; wearing clothing that resembled law enforcement, attempting to take hundreds of pounds of marijuana from the location. Alan Lopez was located a short distance from the location attempting to hide from law enforcement, matching the description given to deputies. While law enforcement searched the area, some of the items described were located throughout the wooded area. Those items being a ballistic vest, DEA hat, fake badges, and firearms. RESIDENTS ESCAPE BLAZE IN LEBANON HOME

Lebanon Fire District Lebanon Firefighters responded to a house fire early this morning where 3 residents narrowly escaped. Residents of the home were upstairs in their room when they were alerted by the sound of a smoke detector. One occupant went down to investigate when they noticed fire engulfing the living room area and covering the front door. Two adults and one child made it safely out of the house prior to the fire departments arrival. Unfortunately, the occupants pet dog did not make it out and succumbed to the fire.   A Volunteer firefighter was the first on scene a gave vital information to the incident commander prior to their arrival. The fire was knocked down after 1 hour and 20 minutes of battling the blaze. Lebanon Fire District responded with 20 personnel on 1 Truck, 1 Engine, 3 ALS Ambulances, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Rehab Unit and 3 chief officers. OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE COACH ARRESTED FOR ONLINE SEXUAL CORRUPTION OF A MINOR

Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.  - An Oregon community college basketball coach has been arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges relating to using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct. In early January of 2022, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office opened a criminal investigation into the potential criminal activities of 35-year-old Nathan "Nate" Ezell Bowie of Portland, OR. Bowie is the head coach for the Mt. Hood Community College men's basketball team. Additionally, Bowie travels in and out of the State of Oregon hosting basketball camps and clinics. In August 2021, Bowie participated in a basketball clinic at Glide High School. During the clinic at Glide, Bowie encouraged the female athletes to follow him on his social media account. He later used his connection with at least one minor female from that camp to strike up a social media relationship. Bowie began soliciting intimate images and videos from the juvenile

GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE EARLY MORNING HOMICIDE

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Shortly after midnight, Gresham Police responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Rockwood Plaza, in the 2400 block of SE 182 nd  Ave. When officers arrived, they located a 28-year-old man, who had an apparent gunshot wound. Officers quickly secured the scene so medical responders could care for the victim and transport him to an area hospital. The victim later succumbed to his injuries and died. Gresham Police detectives and members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team (MCT) responded and are investigating the incident as a homicide. AMITY MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE

Yamhill Co. Sheriff's Office On March 9, 2022, at about 2:30 pm Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office arrested Deedar Singh, age 24 from Amity, OR on a warrant charging 21 counts of Sexual Abuse in the 3 rd  Degree.  The warrant stemmed from a months’ long investigation done by Deputy Jonathan Summers who is assigned to work in the city of Amity.   Deputy Summers identified multiple adults who reported unwanted sexual contact while at the Amity Market where Mr. Singh works.  The case was presented to a Yamhill County Grand Jury which resulted in the warrant being issued.    Based on the nature of conduct reported by the victims in this case and the fact Mr. Singh had daily contact with individuals in the market, the Sheriff’s Office believes there could be additional victims in this case.  If you have additional information related to this investigation, please contact Deputy Jonathan Summers at 503-434-6500 or  summersj@co.yamhill.or.us .
