Jackson County Sheriff's Office Continues Search for Missing and Endangered Ashland Man, Last Seen on Valley View Headed Towards Greenway

Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 22-3074 ASHLAND, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) continues to search for a missing and endangered man last seen on South Valley View Road in Ashland. JCSO Search and Rescue (SAR) is actively searching the greenway around Ashland for Harold Marcrum, 26, missing since May 30. SAR is conducting area searches of his last known location using multiple teams. The SAR teams are searching via horseback, K-9, mountain bike, drone, ground, and fixed wing aircraft. SAR personnel have searched both sides of Bear Creek along the greenway from Ashland into Talent, Phoenix, and Medford, and will broaden the search area as needed. Harold has lived in Ashland since 2017 and is originally from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He is described as a white male, 6’ tall weighing between 180-200 lbs. with blue eyes and blonde hair. Attempted Child Abduction

Springfield Police Department On June 6th, 2022 at 4:18 PM an observant community member contacted the Springfield Police Department to report they were actively following a male suspect who unsuccessfully attempted to abduct a child in the area of South 48th Street near Daisy Street in Springfield. The involved child has been located and is safely at home with their family. The community member was able to provide a vehicle description and the direction they were headed. Due to the quick reactions of the community member and their observations, officers from multiple surrounding agencies responded to locate the suspect and his vehicle. The suspect attempted to flee the area near Camp Creek Road and Hwy 126. When law enforcement located and attempted to contact the suspect via a traffic stop, he immediately stopped his vehicle and took his own life. Motorcycle Flees Scene of Traffic Stop / Death Investigation

Springfield Police Department On June 6th 2022 at 1:00 am a Springfield Patrol Officer attempted to stop a motorcycle that had switched plates near Mohawk Blvd and Olympic St.  The bike fled onto Hwy 126 and then Northbound on Interstate 5.  Speeds reached 120mph.  Officers terminated the pursuit near mile post 206 on Interstate 5.  However, a short time later they observed the motorcycle parked in front of a truck on the shoulder of Interstate 5 near milepost 211.  As Officers pulled up, the suspect fled again.  Officers discovered that the driver of the truck was deceased.  The pursuit continued Northbound on Interstate 5 to Hwy 228 where the suspect turned eastbound.  Officers lost sight of the motorcycle in the area of Brownsville due to speed.  Several agencies began assisting, including the Oregon State Police and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.  Springfield Officers continued searching for the suspect while the Oregon State Police began a death investigation of the male in the

Search Warrant Served at Home of Convicted Felon

Lane County Sheriff's Office Deputies served a search warrant on Friday at a residence in the 3700blk of East 22nd Ave. in Eugene.  Numerous firearms, ammunition, and ballistic vests were recovered from an area accessible to convicted felons.  At least one of the firearms was confirmed as stolen while another’s serial number had been removed.  The primary suspect in the investigation, 29 year old David Joseph Essary, is also convicted felon and is not allowed to possess these items.  Essary remains outstanding and should be considered armed and dangerous. Update on LCSO Case #22-2832    Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Suspicious Conditions / Death Investigation

Lane County Sheriff's Office On 05/26/2022 a passerby called the Lane County Sheriff’s Office to report that they found possible human remains in a wooded area just off of W. Boundary Rd. near Lookout Reservoir.  Investigators responded and determined that the remains were human.  The condition of the remains indicate that the victim had likely been deceased for several weeks prior to discovery of the remains.  Investigators are working with the Oregon State Police Crime Lab to determine the identity of the victim and cause of death.    LCSO Case # 22-2856 Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150 opt. 1.

LEBANON FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO BLAZE

Lebanon Fire District Lebanon Fire District responded mid-morning Friday June 3 rd  to a reported house fire on a busy section of South Santiam Hwy. Fire crews arrived to find a one and half story home, nearly fully engulfed in flames. When the incident commander arrived, he declared the fire a defensive fire attack due to the crews being hampered by live powerlines on the ground. Fire crews were able to reset the blaze with the defensive attack and found another door allowing firefighters to enter safely and begin offensive suppression efforts. Because of the location and no fire hydrants nearby, the IC called for an additional water tender for water supply as well as ODOT for traffic control. Due to the construction type, firefighters chased the fire around in knee walls and an attic space before getting fire completely extinguished. The IC called the fire under control after approximately 90 minutes and crews would remain on scene for several hours for salvage and overhaul. Addition

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 82-UNION COUNTY

Oregon State Police On June 5, 2022 at approximately 7:57 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash on Hwy 82 near milepost 32. Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound black Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Robert E. Scott (50) of Joseph, lost control and crash. The weather, which was rain and fog, is being investigated as contributing factors.  Scott was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger, Linda S. Walker (52) of Joseph, was transported via Life Flight but had sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced deceased.  Hwy 82 was affected for approximately two hours.  OSP was assisted by Union County Sheriff’s Office, Elgin Fire Department, La Grande Fire Department, Life Flight and ODOT.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On June 4, 2022, at 10:11 AM, Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Metro Fire and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle crash near milepost two on Speaker Road, Wolf Creek.   Upon arrival, Deputies found a vehicle that left the roadway, struck a tree and went down an embankment.  The driver and only occupant in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The name of the deceased is being withheld until next of kin can be contacted. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.   No further information will be released at this time.

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office Today marks the 12-year anniversary of the disappearance of Kyron Horman. Kyron was last seen at Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, on June 4, 2010. He was seen attending his school’s science fair; he has not been seen or heard from since. At the time, he was seven-years-old. Kyron was wearing a black t-shirt with "CSI" in green letters and a hand-print graphic on the day he disappeared. He was also wearing black cargo pants, white socks and black Sketchers sneakers with orange trim. Kyron may have had his glasses on at the time of his disappearance. Kyron has brown hair, blue eyes, and wears glasses. He also has a distinct V-shaped strawberry birthmark on his forehead. DNA standards from Kyron’s family and his toothbrush have been submitted and are actively being searched against the national DNA database. Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 22-3074 ASHLAND, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is searching for a missing and endangered man last seen on South Valley View Road in Ashland. Harold Marcrum, 26, from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is described as a white male, 6’ tall weighing between 180-200 lbs. with blue eyes and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with black shoes.  Harold has been missing since Monday when he told his brother he was going for a walk on the Greenway from South Valley View Rd. to downtown Ashland. Harold left his wallet and cell phone behind but took his laptop.  JCSO Search and Rescue (SAR) is actively searching in the area. Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently serving a search warrant at a residence in the 3700blk of East 22nd Ave. in Eugene. The warrant service is related to an ongoing criminal investigation. The crimes being investigated include: Arson, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Body Armor, Criminal Mischief, Theft, Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Trespass, and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle. The suspect in this case is 29 year old David J. Essary. Essary stands approximately 5’07” and weighs approximately 200lbs. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on his neck and arms. Essary is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a motorcycle vs. trailer crash in the 93000blk of River Rd. last night shortly after 10:30pm. The driver of the involved vehicle, 55 year old Edward Peters of Eugene, was pronounced deceased on scene. Investigation revealed that a 1999 Honda motorcycle, driven by Peters, was southbound on River Rd. when it struck a travel trailer being backed into a driveway. The driver that was backing the trailer, 51 year old Gary Ries of Eugene, was not injured in the crash. Peters is believed to have been consuming alcohol prior to the crash.

FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On June 1st, 2022, shortly prior to 3:00pm, a passerby called 911 to report that a vehicle had struck a pole in the area of Gimpl Hill Rd. and McMorrot Ln. Deputies and fire personnel arrived and found the driver and sole occupant was deceased. He was identified as 44 year old Donavon Brady Hagerman of Eugene. Evidence at the scene indicate that the involved vehicle, a 2000 Ford F150 pickup, had been traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and struck the pole. Hagerman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

SEEKING MISSING ENDANGERED WOMAN IN THE CENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD

Portland Police Bureau The Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit is seeking a missing endangered woman in the Centennial Neighborhood and the community is asked to call if they see her. Hanna Zerie, 90, left her home in the 1200 block of Southeast 144th Avenue on Friday, June 3, 2022 at about 11:00a.m. on her way to church near Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. She walks this route frequently. However, she did not return home as expected. Hanna is an African-American female, 5'3" tall, 120lbs, last seen wearing a white scarf over her head, a green dress, and a pink sweater. She has a cross tattooed on her forehead, as seen in the photo. Hanna walks slowly and is not dressed for the weather. She does not speak English and is not familiar with bus services. She has diabetes but no other medical conditions. If anyone sees her they're asked to call 911 right away.
