4X FATAL CRASH- HWY 97- DESCHUTES COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 7:27 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Hwy-97, near milepost 118, in Deschutes County.   All fatal traffic crashes are tragic.  When an entire family is lost, the tragic becomes the horrific.   The preliminary investigation indicated a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Jesse Carl Ross (43) of Corvallis (MT), was northbound when it crossed the center line, sideswiped a southbound Kenworth commercial motor vehicle and trailer, operated by Thiara Onkar Singh (50) of Livingston (CA), and then struck a Toyota Rav4, operated by Gary J Rutledge (57) of Troutdale, head on.  The Toyota subsequently caught fire and became fully engulfed.   The operator of the Toyota, Gary Rutledge, and passengers- Michelle Jean Windsor Rutledge (53), Kate Rutledge (15), and Ryan Rutledge (17)- were all declared deceased at the scene.  All of the deceased were related as immediate family members.   The operator of the Chevrolet

GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— A pedestrian was killed this evening in a traffic crash near SE Stark St. and SE 217 th  Ave.  Gresham Police responded to a report of a crash shortly after 7 p.m. They found a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and critically injured.  Medical personnel treated the pedestrian, but they did not survive.  The driver remained at the scene.   Officers with the East County Vehicular Crimes Team (VCT) are investigating the crash.  The identity of the involved pedestrian and driver are not being released at this time.    Stark St. is closed in both directions at 217 th  Ave. and will likely remain closed for 1-2 hours. Powers man arrested on the charge of Murder II after a dispute at Mill

Coos County Sheriff's Office On October 13 th, 2023, at 11:50 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received several 911 calls reporting a disturbance in progress at Rose City Wood Products located at 49024 Hwy 242, Broadbent, Oregon.  Several law enforcement agencies responded, and upon arrival, the victim, Mearl W. McDaniel (81) of Powers, was found deceased from Homicidal Violence. The suspect was identified as the victims' grandson, Robert T. McDaniel (39) of Powers.  Robert T. McDaniel was arrested on the charge of Murder II and was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and remains in custody.  The Major Crimes Team was activated to investigate the incident, which is ongoing.               Click Here To Download Our App

FATAL CRASH - HWY 138E- DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 6:05 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy-138E, near milepost 21, in Douglas County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a Ford F-350, operated by Douglas Floyd (70) of Middleton (ID), was traveling westbound when it lost control, left the roadway and struck a tree.  The occupants of the vehicle were extricated by first responders and transported to a local hospital.   The operator (Douglas Floyd) was declared deceased after being transported to the hospital.   A passenger in the Ford, Kimberly Colleen Floyd (62) of Middleton (ID), suffered minor injuries.   The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation.   OSP was assisted by Glide Fire, Umpqua Ambulance, and ODOT.               Click Here To Download Our App

OREGON STATE POLICE INTERCEPT ILLEGAL DRUGS ON I-5

Oregon State Police SALEM, Ore. 13 Oct. 2023  – Recently, Oregon State Police (OSP) K-9 officers have seized significant quantities of illegal drugs bound for distribution. The effort is part of a targeted campaign to intercept these deadly substances before they reach the street.  Traffic stops on I-5, in Linn County, led to the seizure of 80,000 fentanyl pills, 14 pounds of fentanyl powder, and 92 pounds of cocaine within 30 days. During each investigation, as part of the enforcement action, the trooper became suspicious of the occupants’ behavior and obtained lawful authority to search the vehicle.  On Aug. 29, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a trooper stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on I-5 north, in Linn County. INTERNET CHILD-LURING INVESTIGATIONS LEAD TO ARREST OF TWO MEN

Lincoln City Police Department Over the last several months, Lincoln City Police Officers have been conducting several online child-luring investigations. Posing as underage children on various social media platforms, the undercover officers went online and were subsequently contacted by adult men who offered to meet up with a person they believed to be a minor for sex or used online communications to solicit a child to engage in sexual contact or sexually explicit conduct. During the course of these investigations, the following arrests were made.  On October 2, 2023, 49-year-old James O. Robinson of Myrtle Point, Oregon, was arrested after he arrived at an undisclosed public location to meet up with a minor for sex. FATAL CRASH - HWY 42 - DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 10:31 A.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle crash on Hwy-42, near milepost 75, in Douglas County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a Jeep Cherokee, operated by Peggy Long (52) of Winston, was on Landers Ave stopped at the stop sign.  The Jeep turned eastbound onto Hwy-42 and entered the path of a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Dustin Kirk Carroll (37) of Roseburg, in the slow lane. The motorcycle struck the side of the Jeep and ejected the rider.   The Harley Davidson operator (Carroll) was declared deceased at the scene.   The Jeep operator (Long) was not injured.   The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation.  The investigation is on-going at this time.   OSP was assisted by Winston PD, Fire District 2, Winston Fire, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT.             Click Here To Download Our App

DEATH INVESTIGATION SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Lane Co. Sheriff's *UPDATE* 10/10/2023 48-year-old Christopher Brown has been identified as a suspect in the death of a 52-year-old man that occurred at a residence on October 5, 2023, in the 2000blk of Harbor Dr. The victim had injuries consistent with an assault by a sharp object such as a knife.  Lane County Sheriff’s detectives located Brown this morning shortly after 10:00am at a property in Chemult, Oregon. He was taken into custody without incident.      Brown was transported to the Lane County Jail where he was lodged on charges including Assault in the First Degree, Manslaughter in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. DETECTIVES SEEK ADDITIONAL VICTIMS IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office The Washington County Sheriff's Office is announcing the indictment and subsequent arrest of Gerardo "Cesar" De Paz Mayorga, a 33-year-old male, on multiple charges of sexual assault. De Paz Mayorga turned himself in at the Washington County Jail on October 2, 2023, following an investigation.   In September 2023, De Paz Mayorga was indicted by a Washington County Grand Jury. He now faces charges that include unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree, two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, and sodomy in the first degree. These charges stem from an incident that occurred earlier this year at De Paz Mayorga's residence in Aloha. The victim, who was unable to provide consent due to impairment, was sexually assaulted by De Paz Mayorga. During the investigation, another incident involving De Paz Mayorga was uncovered. LCSO Case #23-5280 -- Death Investigation

Lane County Sheriff's Office At approximately 11:30am on Thursday (10/5/23), the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a deceased person at a residence in the 2000blk of Harbor Dr. south of Springfield. Upon arrival, responders located the body of a deceased adult.  The victim had injuries consistent with recently being assaulted by an edged weapon.  LCSO detectives responded to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. During the investigation they identified 48-year-old Christopher Paul Brown as a person of interest. Brown is described as a white male adult with graying brown hair and brown eyes.  He stands approximately 5’08” and weighs about 155lbs. Coos Bay Man Arrested After Deputies Responded to 911 Report of Disturbance in Progress

Coos County Sheriff's Office On October 5 th, 2023, at 11:55 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 report of a disturbance in progress on Duling Road just south of Coos Bay.  Sgt. J. Clayburn and Deputy A. Burgo responded and contacted all parties involved. The suspect was identified as Anthony L. Collins (62) of Coos Bay. After an investigation, Mr. Collins was arrested on the charges of Assault IV Domestic and Harassment Domestic stemming from the incident.  Anthony L. Coos Bay Woman Arrested After Unlawfully Entering a Residence in Barview and Threatening Homeowner With a Weapon

Coos County Sheriff's Office On October 7 th, 2023, at 9:15 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 report of a woman who had entered a residence on Cape Arago Hwy near Barview. The woman had reportedly grabbed a gun from inside the home and threatened the homeowner with it.  Sgt. J. Clayburn and Deputy A. Burgo responded to the location and contacted the homeowner outside. Deputy Burgo located the woman inside the residence, identified as Karma L. Perry (47) of Coos Bay. During the investigation, it was evident Ms. Perry had some mental health concerns. However, she was aware of unlawfully entering the victim's residence and possessing the firearm.  Deputy A. Burgo placed Karma L. Perry (47) under arrest on Burglary I and Criminal Trespass I. FBI Portland Seizes 25 guns, Nearly Nine Kilos of Suspected Cocaine and Makes Five Arrests in Multi-State Takedown

FBI - Oregon   PORTLAND, OREGON  – Five people were arrested on Wednesday in a large-scale drug and gun bust throughout three states.  During the operation – which involved  over  150 officers, agents and personnel from  federal, state and local agencies  – law enforcement seized nearly nine kilos of cocaine, 25 firearms (11 from one location), nearly $50,000 in cash and thousands of suspected fentanyl pills.  “The amount of suspected fentanyl alone that we seized in this operation will make a difference in our communities. 25 guns now off the streets, kilos of drugs out of circulation, that’s an impact,” said Kieran L. Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office   GOLD HILL, Ore. – Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) detectives served a search warrant at neighboring black-market cannabis grows yesterday. These properties were both located in the 2000 block of Rogue River Highway in rural Gold Hill. While serving the warrant, detectives discovered a clandestine Butane Honey Oil (BHO) laboratory. Jackson County Code Enforcement issued a citation totaling $887,710 for the unauthorized hydrocarbon extraction facility including the use of butane gas, and failure to obtain land use approval for marijuana production. IMET served the search warrant after receiving tips that the irrigation canal water in the local area was drying up. Oregon Water Resources Department District 13 Watermasters will issue three separate Notices of Violation (NOV) to the responsible party for three separate well locations. Despite being a paying patron of the Gold Hill Irrigation District and with the canal running through the propert
