Sandy Police Dept. Update on Ms. Ki Soon Hyun. Ms. Hyun's body was located in a heavily wooded area approximately half a mile northwest from the last address she was seen. There was no evidence of criminal foul play. Ms. Hyun's family has been notified of her passing. The family wanted to express their gratitude for all of the volunteers and Search and Rescue Personnel. They spoke of Ms. Hyun as a kind and resilient woman who they loved and who loved her family. MAJOR CRASH TEAM ACTIVATED FOR PEDESTRIAN HIT AND RUN FATALITY

Portland Police Bureau On 12/25/2023 at approximately 12:19 a.m. an off-duty Portland Police Officer came across a pedestrian hit and run crash on Southeast Stark Street at Southeast 106th Avenue. The driver involved in the crash left the scene. The off-duty officer called 911 and provided aid to the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance but was later declared deceased. The Major Crash Team has been activated to respond to the scene to take over the investigation. Southeast Stark Street will be closed at Southeast 106th Avenue for several hours as Traffic Officers from the Major Crash Team and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division process the scene and collect evidence. (UPDATE) SANDY POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING WOMAN WITH DEMENTIA

Sandy Police Dept. 12/25/23 Update on Missing Adult - Ms. Ki Soon Hyun: After police received the report of Ms. Hyun missing from 39641 Scenic St. on the afternoon of 12/24, they began searching the immediate area. More resources were requested and soon Search and Rescue crews, a thermal imaging drone, and multiple search K9s were utilized to search for Ms. Hyun. Currently there are approximately 35 volunteer search and rescue personnel on the ground. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has set up an Incident Command where Ms. Hyun was last seen and is coordinating with CSAR, Portland Mountain Rescue, and PNW SAR. DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE MAJOR THEFT AT LOCAL MUSEUM

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Sunday, December 24, 2023, at 2:21 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a break-in alarm at the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals at 26385 NW Groveland Drive in unincorporated Washington County.  Responding deputies found a broken window leading into the building and footprints heading south from the museum. Deputies immediately set up containment in the area and attempted a K9 track, but the individual managed to escape.  Deputies searched the museum with the help of museum staff, where they discovered a significant theft from a large display case containing numerous gold items. The total value of the missing items is not being reported at this time.  Deputies reviewed the museum’s security footage, and the suspect appears to be an average-built adult white male wearing jeans and a jacket.  The case is now being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit detectives. OREGON CITY POLICE SEEKING PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING MISSING ENDANGERED JUVENILE

Oregon City Police Dept. **** OCPD has located runaway juvenile, Tyler Shoop, and he was taken back into protective custody. OCPD would like to thank the public for assistance in looking for Tyler. ****  The Oregon City Police Department is looking for 13-year-old endangered runaway Tyler Shoop.  Tyler was last seen at Clackamette Park on 12/20/23 at about 10:30 p.m., at which time he rode away from his caregiver on a scooter with another unidentified juvenile.  Tyler has medical conditions which require medication.    Tyler is described as a white juvenile male - 5”6” 120lb and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a black flat-billed hat.  He was last seen riding a “Stunt Scooter.” Anyone with information about Tyler’s whereabouts is encouraged to call 911 or the CCOM non-emergency at 503-655-8211. HUMAN TRAFFICKING MISSIONS IN DECEMBER RESULT IN MULTIPLE ARRESTS

Portland Police Bureau During the month of December, Portland Police Bureau’s Human Trafficking Unit continued proactive anti-trafficking initiatives through buyer suppression and directed patrol missions. HTU had assistance from East, North, and Central Precincts, Public Safety Support Specialists, Air Support Unit, Narcotics and Organized Crime, Special Resources Division, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Multnomah County Probation and Parole, Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and community advocates. COOS BAY MAN ARRESTED ON WEAPONS CHARGES

Coos Bay Police Department The Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) arrested a Coos Bay man on weapons charges following the execution of a search warrant at a Coos Bay residence. The CBPD began an investigation on December 14, 2023, after receiving a report of fraudulent checks being cashed at a local business. CBPD officers discovered information during that investigation that was used to apply for and obtain a search warrant for a residence at 270 N Main St. in Coos Bay. Around 3:00 pm on December 20, 2023, officers from CBPD and the Coos County Emergency Response Team (ERT) arrived at the residence to carry out the search warrant. As they searched, the officers found items that were linked to criminal activity and a suspect who was not related to their original case. Many items found at the residence, including unregistered guns and fabricated silencers, a significant amount of ammunition and cash, a computer, a 3-D printer, and suspected fentanyl powder, were seized by officers. Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office Updated 12/21/2023: The death investigation on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, is being investigated as a double homicide. The victims are identified as 46-year-old Brian Lee Rolen and 43-year-old Diane Marie Psaros. The suspect, who subsequently took his own life, is identified as 54-year-old Lawrence Nathan Peters. Next of kin notifications have been completed. The families of those involved are requesting privacy.
