PORTLAND MAN SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR ROLE IN ARMED ROBBERY TARGETING SOUTHERN OREGON MARIJUANA GROWER

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon MEDFORD, Ore.—On January 24, 2024, a Portland, Oregon man with a lengthy criminal history was sentenced to federal prison for his role in an armed robbery targeting a southern Oregon marijuana grower. Kenan Dizdarevic, 35, was sentenced to 107 months in federal prison and three years’ supervised release. He was also ordered to pay restitution to his victims. “Mr. Dizdarevic and his accomplices—pretending to be police armed with firearms and outfitted in body armor and ski masks—placed their victims in a horribly dangerous and frightening situation. Our office is committed to holding defendants like Mr. Dizdarevic accountable and combating violent crime throughout Oregon,” said Nathan J. PPB NEEDS PUBLIC'S HELP LOCATING MISSING ENDANGERED MAN

Portland Police Bureau The Portland Police Bureau’s Missing Persons Unit is looking for a missing endangered man and anyone who sees him is asked to contact PPB. On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Edwin Hartley Jr., 72, drove to a laundromat in the 4500 block of Southwest Vermont Street. Several hours later, Edwin’s wife walked to the laundromat and learned her husband left the laundromat at 7:00 p.m. Edwin has not been seen since. Both detectives and family are concerned about Edwin because he suffers from depression and confusion. Edwin is described as a Caucasian male, 6’0”, 196 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, navy shirt, and blue jeans. Edwin wears contacts and has hearing aids. He may be driving a 2012 silver Toyota Prius with Oregon license plate 831FRK. PPB is asking anyone who sees Edwin to please call 911. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact detectives at  missing@police.portlandoregon. gov  .                        

REDMOND POLICE INVESTIGATE RASH OF COUNTERFEIT $100 DOLLARS BILLS

Redmond Police Dept. Redmond, Oregon - The Redmond Police Department is requesting information from the public that may help identify a person of interest related to counterfeit 100-dollar bills being passed at local businesses. In some cases, the bills were able to pass initial detection practices during cash transactions and several times the suspect requested smaller bills or change for the 100-dollar bill. The department has also received reports from a local bank, who have identified five counterfeit hundred-dollar bills in the past two days.   The Redmond Police Department would encourage businesses to visit KnowYourMoney.pdf ( secretservice.gov ) for helpful ways to identify counterfeit currency.  If a counterfeit bill is identified, call the police immediately through dispatch 541-693-6911 and attempt to identify any vehicles associated as well as a physical description of the person trying to pass the bill.                         Click Here To Download Our App

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION DEVELOPS OVERNIGHT

Salem Police Department Salem, Ore.  — Salem Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning. At approximately 1:30 a.m. today, a deputy from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, responding to a report of gunfire in the 1100 block of Cordon RD SE, came upon a vehicle blocking the roadway. The male driver of the vehicle was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Salem Police responded to the scene and assumed the investigation which closed Cordon RD between Macleay and Caplinger RDS SE for approximately six hours. No immediate arrests have been made. The incident is an active investigation, and no additional information is being released, including that of the 23-year-old victim. BARRICADED SUBJECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 17000 block of SE Stark St., yesterday at approximately 11:00 p.m. Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspect, Dylan Burstell, 30, had barricaded himself in his apartment at this location. Burstell had a felony parole violation warrant with an original charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Burstell on domestic violence charges. Burstell refused to surrender to officers and the East Metro SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) were called to respond to the scene. Through the late hours of the night, CNT attempted to convince Burstell to surrender to law enforcement, but he refused. Pursuant to a signed search warrant, the East Metro SWAT team forced entry into the apartment, despite Burstell’s best attempts to barricade the door and block the team’s entry. ALBANY MAN SHOT DURING DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE FEMALE ARRESTED AND IN CUSTODY

Albany Police On Thursday, January 25, 2024, at about 0213am Albany Police Department received a 911 call from the 600 block of 34th Ave SE, Albany, Linn County, OR. The 911 caller reported his roommate had been shot by his girlfriend at the residence. Officers responded to the area and located the victim near the front door with a gunshot wound to his head. Albany Fire Department responded and performed life-saving measures and transported the victim to the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Corvallis. The victim has been identified as Albany resident, Lucas Allen Forbes, 30 years of age. The victim is in critical condition.  Albany Police Officers contacted Forbes’ girlfriend, Hami W Lee (24) DOB 02/23/1989.  Hami Lee cooperated with investigators at the scene. Hami Lee was later taken into custody for crimes involving domestic violence to include, Assault in the second degree, Menacing, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  The Albany Police Department are thankful for the cooperation of the

Oregon City Police Dept. On May 2nd, 2023, at around 1:07 p.m., the Oregon City Police Department received a report of a theft at Northwest Primary Care in Oregon City, Oregon. The incident involved a wallet being stolen from a purse. The investigation revealed that two individuals entered the facility's lobby, and one of them proceeded down the hallway leading to the office where the theft occurred. Following the theft, the female suspect pictured in the pink shirt and black hat was captured on video surveillance fraudulently using the victim's bank cards. The suspect is believed to have tattoos on her lower back and left leg.  A similar incident occurred at Meridian Park Hospital a few weeks after the initial theft.  In this case, another victim's wallet was stolen.  Subsequently, a blonde-haired female pictured wearing a NASA sweatshirt, was also captured on video surveillance fraudulently using the victim's credit card. Sheriff's Office * UPDATE * - 1/24/24 The deceased driver was identified as Kimberly Rene Bernier, 38, of Pleasant Hill.   -- 01/21/24 - LCSO Case #24-0313 - Fatal Car Crash On the morning of January 21 st , Deputies with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single vehicle crash into a muddy field along Edenvale Road near Highway 58, Pleasant Hill.  Deputies located the driver deceased underneath the vehicle, a 2014 Nissan Altima.  The driver is believed to have been the only occupant, and was likely not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, resulting in her ejection from the vehicle.  The crash reportedly occurred sometime the night before, but was not discovered by area residents until morning.  The driver’s identity is being withheld at this time.                        Click Here To Download Our App

STOLEN VEHICLE PURSUIT AND RECOVERY

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On January 23, 2024, around 10:00 PM, Deputies with the Josephine County Sheriff's Office located two stolen vehicles which were being driven on Fish Hatchery Road.  Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the two stolen vehicles at which time the stolen vehicles increased their speed in an apparent attempt to flee from Deputies.  Deputies pursued the stolen vehicles on Fish Hatchery Road and then onto Cheney Creek Road. At one point of the pursuit, one of the stolen vehicles failed to negotiate a corner and was stopped while the other stolen vehicle continued fleeing.  The second stolen vehicle was able to evade capture when Deputies stopped with the spun-out stolen vehicle.  Deputies then attempted to order the driver out of the vehicle.  Instead of complying, the suspect backed into a pursing patrol car.  The stolen vehicle’s tow hitch became entangled to the patrol car’s push bumper and the driver continued to flee, dragging the patrol

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 At 2:41 p.m. Monday, Roseburg Fire Department (RFD) was dispatched to a water rescue in the area of Elk Island and requested the Technical Rescue Team from Douglas County Fire District No. 2 (DCFD2). Initial reports stated that a boat flipped over, and three people were in the water. Shortly after the initial report, an update was given to responders that two subjects were seen holding on to brush next to Elk Island, and one continued downriver. Roseburg Fire arrived at the scene, locating the two subjects holding onto the brush. Roseburg Fire established command, placed crews downriver for safety, and began coordinating with Douglas County Fire District No. 2 technical rescue team. The Technical Rescue Team from DCFD2 launched their paddle raft under the Oak/Washington Street bridge to gain access to the two subjects near Elk Island. Lane County Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is looking for 80-year-old Donald Ray Stone. Stone was last seen on January 11th, and was believed to be driving from Cottage Grove to his home on Row River Road.   Stone is described as a white male adult, standing approximately 5’06” tall and weighing about 135 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes. Stone suffers from Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Stone was last observed driving his maroon 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The vehicle has damage to the left rear bumper and quarter panel/fender. The bed of the pickup had a lumber rack, which may have been removed.
