GRESHAM POLICE IDENTIFY SUSPECT AND VICTIM TO FRIDAY EVENING HOMICIDE; SEEK ADDITIONAL WITNESSES

Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police responded to reports of a stabbing at 4:26 p.m. on Sep. 3rd at the Hogan Woods Apartment complex located at 1645 NE 20th St. Officers arrived and located one injured male victim and one male suspect.

The victim, 68-year-old Robert “Randy” Ricketts, was transported to a local hospital but later died of his injuries. An autopsy by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be homicide.

Officers learned the disturbance was over a parking space at the location which led to the deadly stabbing. The suspect, 53-year-old, Shawn Hamilton was booked on one charge of Murder II at the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Detectives continuing the investigation learned there were several additional witnesses to the altercation who have not been contacted or interviewed by police.
