LAW ENFORCEMENT SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING AN INDIVIDUAL WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office

Around 10 a.m., on Tuesday, November 16, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) patrol deputies received a report of a person attempting to steal a vehicle in the 44000 block of East Larch Mountain Road. The suspect was not found upon arrival.

Based on a person description and information gathered by MCSO throughout the day, the suspect was identified as 23-year-old Logan Allen Cantwell. Deputies learned Cantwell was wanted by law enforcement for shooting at a Wasco County sheriff’s deputy in Shaniko on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Out of an abundance of caution, a reverse 911 call was issued to properties in the area east of Corbett High School to the community of Bridal Veil and north of the Multnomah County line to I-84. The call asked for residents to shelter in place and report suspicious activity to 911.

Based on additional information, and after maintaining a perimeter for several hours, deputies no longer believe Cantwell is in the area. Residents were notified via a reverse 911 call around 4:45 p.m. that the shelter-in-place order was rescinded.

There was no threat to Corbett High School at any time.

Cantwell is described as a white male, approximately 5’ 6” to 5’ 9” and about 150lbs. Cantwell may be going by an alias of Logan Taylor or Kendall Myers. If you see Cantwell, do not approach him, call 911 immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous.
