GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING NEW YEAR'S DAY HOMICIDE

Gresham, Ore.—Just after 2:00pm today, Gresham Police responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 700 block of SE 187^th ave. When officers arrived, they located a person who had died as a result of the shooting and officers quickly secured the scene and called investigators. Gresham Police detectives and members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team (MCT) arrived and are currently interviewing neighbors and 911 callers to determine what lead up to the shooting. Crime scene investigators are reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area apartment complexes and residents to try to identify the suspect.
