O'ACES ROBBERY SUSPECT AT LARGE IN GRANTS PASS

Grants Pass Police Department

Grants Pass, Ore. – This afternoon at 12:19 pm, Grants Pass Police responded to the O’Aces on Williams Hwy regarding a robbery of the business with a shot having been fired. Arriving officers discovered a white male adult wearing all dark clothing and gloves had entered the business and demanded money as he pointed a handgun at the clerk. For an unknown reason, the suspect fired one round from the handgun that did not strike the clerk. The suspect then took cash and fled the scene on foot in a westward direction. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

Officers immediately set a perimeter, placed the nearby Allen Dale Middle School on lockdown, and began a K9 search for the suspect. It was determined the suspect had fled the area and was moving away from the middle school, but he was not apprehended. The school lockdown was lifted for normal operations.

The Grants Pass Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the robbery suspect shown in the attached video prints. Citizens living in the area west of the intersection of New Hope Rd and Williams Hwy are asked to check their home surveillance video for images showing the suspect just before and after the time of the robbery. Anyone having information regarding the suspect’s identity or additional video of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Brown at 541-450-6345.

There are no further details that can be released at this time.
