SUSPECT INDICTED ON EIGHTEEN SEX CRIME CHARGES

Sherwood Police Dept.

Detectives believe Francisco Buenrostro-Barajas, age 29, committed several acts of sexual abuse against a child victim over the course of several years. The victim recently disclosed the abuse to the Sherwood Police Department School Resource Officer and Sherwood Police detectives conducted an investigation. 

Based on that investigation, Mr. Buenrostro-Barajas was indicted by a Washington County Grandy Jury on 18 felony criminal charges:

• Sodomy in the First Degree  (Felony) – 9 counts
• Sex Abuse in the First Degree (Felony) – 6 counts
• Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree (Felony) – 3 counts

Following the indictment, a Washington County Circuit Court Judge issued a Secret Indictment Arrest Warrant. Mr. Buenrostro-Barajas was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Washington County Jail on a bail of $3.75 Million.
