Animal Rescue- Days Creek Rd. 5/5/2023

At approximately 18:45 on May 5th Days Creek Fire was notified of a horse that was stuck in a cattle guard. On arrival Days Creek Fire requested that Tiller Fire District be dispatched and to respond with extrication tools. Upon arrival of Tiller Fire units it was determined that 3 of the horses hooves were stuck in the cattle guard and a veterinarian on scene had the horse sedated. People on scene were making efforts to remove the horse but with out success. Tiller Fires extrication tools made quick work of the cattle guard. The horse was removed from the cattle guard without serious injuries. Tiller Fire was able to respond with our brush rig 4880 and a captains rig for a total of 3 volunteers.

Tiller fire would like to thank the Gary Sinise Foundation once again for awarding us the grant last year to be able to purchase the new extrication tools.
