MISSING NEWBERG WOMAN FOUND DECEASED

Newberg-Dundee Police Dept.

Carolyn Duncan (43 y/o) was reported missing from her Newberg residence on Sunday, March 31’st.  After interviewing people close to Ms. Duncan and finding her absence to be out of character, the Newberg-Dundee Police Department opened a missing person investigation.

In an effort to locate Ms. Duncan or find clues to her whereabouts, NDPD conducted searches of her residence and neighborhood. This led to a broader search, on April 3rd, of the Chehalem Creek area, south of W. 5th St., in Newberg, with the assistance of the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue team. This area is in close proximity to Ms. Duncan’s residence and may have been an area she would hike through.

Sadly, the search operation located Ms. Duncan deceased in the creek area behind the property she was residing at. An exact cause of death has not been determined and is still under investigation. There is no known threat to the general public at this time.

We want to acknowledge the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Police Department, and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.
