STRUCTURE FIRE ON HARMONY DRIVE
Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2
At 9:25 p.m. late Wednesday evening, Douglas County Fire District No.2 and Winston-Dillard Fire District were dispatched to a structure fire on Harmony Drive in the Green District. Initial reports indicated that the structure was fully involved and spreading to nearby houses.
Thanks to the efficient response of our firefighters, the fire was stopped from spreading and contained to a single structure. Although the house suffered significant damage and is considered
a total loss, the most important thing is that the single occupant of the residence was able to get out of the structure safely. No injuries were reported by the resident or the firefighters working the scene.
DCFD2 responded to this incident with five fire engines and one command unit, totaling 16 personnel. Due to the heavy fire damage, crews could not determine the cause of the fire. Crews at the scene were assisted by Avista Gas and PP&L.
