Office of the State Fire Marshal Extends Rules Allowing for Self-Serve Gas to May 9, 2020

Oregon Office of Emergency Management The Office of the State Fire Marshal is extending a temporary rule change that allows Oregon gas stations to provide self-service on a voluntary basis, in order to address shortages of workers experienced by gas retailers statewide. The rules change was first announced on March 28 and then extended on April 11 to April 25. Today, State Fire Marshal Jim Walker extended the deadline another two weeks, through May 9. “We want to thank Oregonians and Oregon businesses for being flexible during these challenging times,” said Walker. “As we continue to monitor this ongoing situation, we feel it is best to extend this option for an additional two weeks.” The extension of the change will still allow station attendants to help customers while avoiding face-to-face and hand-to-hand contact. Crime Stoppers of Oregon The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve the homicide of a Southeast Portland man. On April 24, 2019, at 7:07 p.m., Portland Police East Precinct officers responded to the report of a person injured in a shooting in the area of Southeast 93rd Avenue and Henry Street. Officers and medical personnel arrived and located 34-year-old Robert Lewis IV suffering from traumatic injuries. Medical personnel determined that Lewis was deceased at the scene. The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Lewis died as a result of a gunshot wound. Officers located evidence of gunfire at the scene but did not locate any suspects in the area. The Lewis family continues to grieve for the loss of their loved one and has shared photographs of Lewis to be released in the hopes that someone might have information about his death. Your Douglas County Board of Commissioners would like to announce that they will be reopening the Douglas County Courthouse for public access on  Monday, April 27, 2020 .  The opening will incorporate very strict social distancing procedures for county employees, as well as for the visiting public.  All County Departments will resume normal hours of operation on Monday, April 27, with the exception of the Fairgrounds and Museum.  Due to the current COVID-19 orders from our Governor, the Douglas County Fairgrounds, the Douglas County Museum and the Umpqua Lighthouse Museum will remain closed. Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore . – On April 22, 2020, The Benton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rolan Harvey Meyers, 35 of Albany, after knowingly soliciting a 15-year-old female child online, where he took substantial steps to engage in sexual contact with the girl. Predators target children for sexual purposes on social media, gaming, and messaging platforms.  As more children are home on digital devices and completing online school due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, children will potentially have an increased exposure to more predators flocking to sites that are popular with kids according to a recent  FBI press release . Oregon State Police Trooper seizes over 7 pounds of Narcotics on Routine Traffic Stop near Medford - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  On Friday, April 17, 2020 at approximately 4:00 P.M., an Oregon State Police Trooper from the Central Point Area Command contacted a 2019 Nissan Rogue for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 near milepost 33.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and the Trooper located two manufactured compartments on the floor of the vehicle.  Inside the compartments the Trooper found 7.2 pounds of cocaine and approximately 3.5 grams of heroin.  The driver was identified as Marisol Torres Cervantes (50) from Vancouver Washington.  Cervantes was lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful possession of cocaine, Unlawful delivery of cocaine, and Unlawful possession of heroin.

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating four WaveRunners and two trailers stolen from Gresham Powersports on April 16. A stolen U-Haul truck used in the theft was recovered on Monday along with three lawn mowers stolen from another business. Below is a list of the outstanding stolen items valued at over $56,000. 2 Cottage Grove men cited for Trespass after climbing over barricade at closed beach entry, Otter Rock, Or

Sheriff's Office On 04/20/2020 at about 1:32 pm, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office received a report from residents of Otter Rock that two adult men were disregarding the park closed signage and chain link fencing erected to block the public beach access area due to the Covid-19 closure. The two unidentified subjects were observed climbing over the chain link fence, passing over their surfboards then proceeding down to the beach.  On the same date at about 3:38 pm, Deputy Dunteman observed two adult males matching the earlier description climbing back over the fence from the beach area. The adult males were identified as 20-year-old Max Gause and 19-year-old Konnor Owens both of Cottage Grove, Oregon. It was confirmed with the subjects that they were contacted by a local citizen prior to climbing the fence and were advised that the park was closed and that they would be trespassing if they chose to do so.  The Sheriff's Office has been actively patroll

Tiller Man Arrested After Pointing Firearm at Deputies

Sheriff's Office TILLER, Ore.  - A Tiller man is in jail after he pulled a firearm on deputies attempting to serve court papers Sunday morning.  At approximately 10:53 AM, on Sunday, April 19, 2020, deputies went to a residence in the 2100-block of Devils Knob Road in Tiller to serve court paperwork to 51-year-old Daniel Paul Schrack. When deputies arrived, they made contact with Schrack outside of the residence. Schrack became confrontational and began to retreat into a shop. One deputy gave Schrack orders to stop and then deployed his TASER, which did not have any effect. At the same time, another deputy attempted to detain Schrack at which point he lunged toward the shop door, turned and drew a firearm pointing it at deputies. He did not fire the weapon.  Deputies communicated with Schrack until he surrendered at 12:20 PM. Sheriff's Office Seeks Assistance Locating Missing Man Jonathan Eli Moore

Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance locating 35 year old Jonathan Eli Moore (Oakland, OR) who was involved in vehicle crash on 4/7/2020 on Row River Road (Lane County) where it is believed at least one shot was fired at Moore's 2001 Dodge Dakota.  The Dodge was located at the crash scene unoccupied, and Moore's cell phone was found nearby.  The second vehicle involved in the crash has also been located, and deputies are continuing to investigate to determine all of the details of the incident.   Moore is believed to have left the scene on foot, and damage to the Dodge indicates that Moore may have suffered injuries from the crash.  Law enforcement searched the area of the incident but have not been able to locate Moore.  Moore's family reported him as missing to Sutherlin Police Department on 4/10/2020 after not hearing from him since April 7th when he left for Cottage Grove to visit a friend.
