HOMICIDE IN MAPLETON

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Today the Lane County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible homicide in the 9400 block of Hwy 126W. The caller, Marsha Quesnell advised she had killed her mother Mona Tittle. When deputies arrived Marsha cooperated and was taken into custody without incident. Mona was located by deputies deceased inside the residence. Marsha was lodged at Lane County Adult Corrections this afternoon on the charge of murder. This is an ongoing investigation at this time but there is no ongoing danger to the community.

WOMAN DIES, SON ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOMICIDE

Portland Police Bureau On Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 7:26p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a report of an assault at a home in the 1300 block of Northeast 68th Avenue. When officers arrived, they located the victim with serious, life-threatening injuries. She was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The suspect, the victim’s son, remained on scene and cooperated with officers. The Portland Police Special Victims Unit responded to the scene to lead the investigation, assisted by the Homicide Unit. Austin K. Green-Yurick, 32, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree-Domestic Violence, Assault in the Second Degree-Domestic Violence, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Domestic Violence. On Saturday, June 24, 2023, Detectives were notified that she died of her injuries at the hospital. Green-Yurick is expected to face amended charges. The victim will be identified once family members have had time to make notifications.

COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE FIRE - 2700 NW STEWART PARKWAY

Roseburg Fire Dept. At 3:50 p.m. on June 23, 2023, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a fire alarm at Mercy Medical Center, located at 2700 NW Stewart Parkway.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the fire alarm sounding and heavy smoke showing in the medical unit on the second floor of the commercial structure.  Firefighters confirmed a fire had occurred and was isolated to one patient room.  The fire was extinguished by the quick action of Mercy Medical Center employees.  Firefighters provided assistance in ventilation and removal of smoke as well as assisting with moving patients to new rooms for continued care. Upon investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be from a patient smoking a cigarette while on oxygen inside the patient’s room.  One patient suffered burns to the upper body and is in serious condition.  At least one employee suffered smoke inhalation. Illegal Marijuana Grow One Person in Custody

Sheriff's Office On June 20 th , 2023, The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) with assistance from the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) executed a search warrant in the 7400 block of Maple Creek in Westlake, Oregon.  During the service of the search warrant deputies located and detained Chanh Nguyen on the property.  A search of the property was conducted and over 2300 growing marijuana plants were located inside building on the property.  There were several other growing rooms that had been recently harvested.  Deputies believe that Nguyen typically grew approximately 5000 marijuana plants at a time.  Deputies also located and seized more than $20,000 in US Currency and a 2023 Dodge TRX truck valued at more than $80,000 that were believed to be proceeds of Nguyens illegal drug trade.  Evidence on the property indicates the operation has been in progress for at least two years.  Nguyen had been previously arrested in the state of Washington for similar crimes.  This

A woman wearing no clothes was arrested in the Charleston Boat Basin after damaging electrical equipment

Coos County Sheriff's Office On June 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a woman wearing no clothes and ripping up machinery inside Pacific Seafood in the Charleston Boat Basin.  Sgt. Slater and Deputy Francis responded to the area, and Deputy Francis located the woman, Pricilla L. Koester (50), on I – Dock, who was now wearing only a coat. Deputy Francis investigated, learning that Pricilla had trespassed on a vessel on I – Dock and destroyed an electrical docking post owned by the Port of Coos Bay valued at $1,600. Dispatch also advised Pricilla was on supervised probation with the Coos County Community Corrections Division.  After an investigation, Pricilla L. Koester (50) was arrested for criminal mischief I, criminal trespass I, and probation violation. Pricilla was transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and remains in custody.

Hit and run crash on Seven Devils ends with Bandon man’s arrest on several charges.

Coos County Sheriff's Office On June 23, 2023, at 1:00 a.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a hit and run near the intersection of Randolph Road and Seven Devils Road, just North of Bandon.  Bandon Police along with Deputies Starr and Davis responded. Bandon Police was able to locate the suspect vehicle which had subsequently crashed. Det. Davis investigated the incident. Det. Davis learned the driver of the crashed vehicle was Jesse M. Dornath (29) of Bandon. Mr. Dornath admitted to drinking alcohol and eating psilocybin mushrooms. Mr. Dornath also stated he had a converted short-barrel rifle inside his vehicle.  After an investigation, Mr. Dornath was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, hit and run with property damage, and felon in possession of a firearm. Mr. Dornath is being referred on additional charges of unlawful possession of psilocybin and unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle.

Elite Volleyball Academy Coach Arrested for Sexually Abusing Youth Athlete

Redmond Police Dept.   Redmond, Oregon  - On May 17, 2023, Redmond Police Department (RPD)officers arrested 22-year-old Zachary Anderson of Sister’s Oregon, following an investigation into a sexual relationship with a juvenile female. Mr. Anderson is a coach with a local private volleyball club, Elite Volleyball Academy, where he had access to his victim.  Mr. Anderson was arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for the following offenses: Sex Abuse II x 3, Sexual Misconduct x 3, and Contributing to the Sexual Delinquency of a Minor x 3.      RPD would like to acknowledge the strength the victim and her family have displayed reporting this case to law enforcement.  In the state of Oregon, it is unlawful and a felony offense for a coach or a teacher to engage in sexual conduct with one of their athletes or students.   Detectives are investigating additional information that Mr. Anderson may have committed sex crimes against other juveniles and are asking anyone with information

Police Seek Public Assistance in Cedar Links Park Shooting

Medford Police Dept.   On early Saturday morning, June 10th, 2023 at 1:20 A.M., the Medford Police responded to report of shots fired in the area of Cedar Links Park in east Medford. Multiple neighbors called in the disturbance and upon police arrival, they located multiple involved subjects and learned that one victim had been transported by private party to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Medford Police detectives responded to the scene and have been working the case since that time. At this point, detectives are working to identify suspects and track down witnesses and involved vehicles.  Medford Police Detectives are sharing the attached image in order to engage the public in identifying or locating the pictured vehicle. The vehicle in question is of interest in the investigation thought at this point it’s involvement is unknown. Wanted Bandon man pulls a gun on Sheriff’s Deputy during K9 chase

Coos County Sheriff's Office On June 22, 2023, at 10:37 a.m. Chief Cory Dhillon received information from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center of Kyle R. Thompson’s (33) whereabouts. Bandon Police have been searching for Kyle as he has valid warrants for his arrest and has also committed new crimes.  Chief Dhillon located Kyle and his vehicle, a black Dodge Caliber, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop with it. Kyle failed to yield and accelerated, driving down 11 th Street toward Rosa Road. Chief Dhillon initiated a pursuit and continued chasing the vehicle down Rosa Road at speeds of 80 mph. Kyle turned onto Windhorst Lane and continued at a high rate of speed on the gravel road making it difficult for Chief Dhillon to see. Untimely, Chief Dhillon lost sight of the vehicle.  Several members from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and Bandon Fire responded to assist. HERBERT JAMES RABAGO FOUND GUILTY IN MURDER CASE

District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On June 21, 2023, a Washington County jury found Herbert James Rabago guilty of Murder in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Chief Deputy District Attorney Bracken McKey and Deputy District Attorney Sean Kallery prosecuted the case before Judge Andrew Erwin. On February 8, 2021, the Defendant shot the victim, Jeremy Lee Covey, outside an apartment complex in Aloha, Oregon. The victim was in his vehicle at the time of the shooting. He then exited the vehicle and yelled for help. An acquaintance drove Mr. Covey to an urgent care facility where he later died.  Sheriff’s deputies immediately responded to the scene and began canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. HEAD ON COLLISION IN LA PINE SENDS BOTH DRIVERS TO HOSPITAL

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On June 19, 2023, just before 8:00 pm, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of an injury motor vehicle crash on Huntington Road south of Riverview Drive, in La Pine. Upon arrival deputies rendered aid to Driver #1, who had severe injuries and was entrapped in a silver 2018 Subaru hatchback. Bystanders who heard the crash had already arrived and were rending aid as well. La Pine Fire responded and had to extricate Driver #1 from the vehicle and was transported to St. Charles, Bend by air ambulance due to his injuries. The driver of the Suburban sustained minor injuries and was transported to St Charles, Bend by private party.   As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Vehicle #1 was traveling south on Huntington Rd. when it crossed into the northbound lane. Tri-County First Responders Mass Casualty Drill Scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 2023

Redmond Police Dept.   Redmond, Oregon-  Law enforcement and Fire agencies from Deschutes County, Jefferson County and Crook County, in cooperation with the Redmond School District, and several other partner groups, are conducting a mass casualty drill at Elton Gregory Middle School, 1220 NW Upas Ave, Redmond, OR, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.  Roadways in the area will be closed starting at 7:00 AM, with limited access granted to residents and businesses directly affected by the closure of NW Upas Ave between NW 10th Street and NW 15 th  Street.  Notifications to affected residences and businesses were made last week, and reader boards will be erected in the area advising others.    The purpose of the training is to rehearse the unimaginable, so we and all associated stakeholders can be better prepared in the event an actual mass casualty incident occurs in our community.  During the training, a large first responder presence will be visible to passersby.  In November 2018, Redmond Pol

Coos County father and son arrested after a physical altercation with a woman

Coos County Sheriffs' Office On June 19 th , 2023, around 8:50 pm, the Coos County Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding an assault that had taken place on Kellogg Lane in Coos Bay. Patrol Deputy J. Vinyard responded to investigate.  Upon his arrival, Deputy Vinyard learned that the victim had been attacked and held down by her neck by Christopher Lyon (32) and Jack Lyon (54). The victim had been bit by Christopher Lyon and had her vehicle keys taken. After his investigation, Deputy Vinyard arrested both men. Christopher Lyon was charged with Assault 3-Domestic violence, and Coercion. Jack Lyon was charged with Assault 3, Strangulation, and Coercion. Both men were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked and lodged. They are both being held without bail pending arraignment.

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - A 65-year-old man is in custody for the murder of his daughter-in-law on Friday. On Friday, June 16, 2023, shortly before 9:30 a.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report that a woman had been shot at her residence in the 100-block of Adams Loop in the Green District. Deputies and medical personnel arrived on scene to discover 47-year-old Roseburg resident Amy Jo Coder suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to an out of area hospital. Coder succumbed to her wounds on Sunday afternoon. Deputies quickly identified her 65-year-old father-in-law, David Foster Coder of Myrtle Creek as her assailant. He was apprehended and taken into custody within a half hour the initial 9-1-1 call. Roseburg Police Department Conducts Training

Roseburg Police Dept. ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Roseburg Police Department will be holding an in-service training for police officers during Roseburg School District's Summer Break. The training will take place Monday, June 19 th .  The training will be held at the Roseburg High School and officers will participate in scenario based training. Continuing education hours keep officers current with their certification requirements mandated by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and to maintain a professional level of service.  In the interest of public notification and awareness, community members should be aware that the scenario based training will look like an active shooter/active threat response. JOHN RICHARD MOVICK SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS IN PRISON IN CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On June 8, 2023, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Erik Buchér sentenced John Richard Movick, age 61, to 225 months in prison. On April 10, 2023, a jury found the Defendant guilty of three counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and Luring a Minor. The jury was hung on two counts of Sodomy in the First Degree and one count of Incest.  Deputy District Attorney Rayney Meisel prosecuted the case against Mr. Movick.  In March of 2021, the victim’s mother contacted the Oregon Department of Human Services after her daughter disclosed sexual abuse committed by Mr. Movick, her stepfather at the time. The victim told investigators of numerous occasions in which the Defendant groomed and sexually abused her between the ages of five and nine years old.  The victim’s mother detailed the toll the abuse took on her daughter in a powerful victim impact statement read during the defendant’s sentencing hearing.  “What John did to [my
