K9 Nato Assists Newport in Capturing Burglary Suspect

Lincoln City Police Department In the early morning of Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the Newport Police Department requested assistance with a burglary suspect in the area of NE 3rd St. and NE Avery St.  LCPD Officers, including K9 Officer Nato, responded to assist. In collaboration with the Newport Police Department and their UAS system, K9 Nato was able to locate the suspect hiding in the bushes next to a business.  The suspect, 33-year-old Newport resident Stevie Cloutier, was arrested by the Newport Police Department.  He was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, three counts of Theft in the Third Degree, Escape in the Third Degree, and Possession of Methamphetamine (a Drug Enforcement Misdemeanor). This is the second incident this week where LCPD K9 Officers assisted our local law enforcement partner agencies.  We are proud to work with such high-quality officers, and we will continue to provide K9 assistance as needed throughout the county.

Newport man arrested for Armed Robbery

Newport Police Department On Sunday, July 27, 2025 at approximately 3:47 a.m., Newport Police Officers were dispatched to South Beach Grocery on a report a subject had just robbed the clerk at gunpoint. Officers and a Deputy from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office - Oregon searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.  Review of surveillance footage showed a lone male subject walk into the store with his face covered with a makeshift mask. The suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanded the money from the register and a specific pack of cigarettes, before fleeing on foot.  At approximately 8 a.m., Newport Officers contacted 31-year-old Joshawa Greenleaf Devries of Newport at Highway 101 and SW Angle Street, where Devries was ultimately arrested for the robbery. Devries was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on the following charges: Robbery in the first degree Menacing Unlawful use of a weapon Theft in the second degree The incident remains under investigation....

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Suspect Arrested

Gresham Police Department Cases: 25-30013 & 25-27345 On July 23 around 1:00 p.m., Community Safety Specialists (CSS) spotted a stolen Kia Soul driving into an apartment parking lot in the 1100 block of NW Wallula Ave. 👀 They quickly alerted officers, who responded to the area. A few minutes later, the vehicle was found unoccupied. Officers located a suspect nearby who was already wanted in a previous stolen vehicle case. He was taken into custody without incident.  Blaine Lavaque, 29, was lodged at MCDC on suspicion of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle related to both cases.  More From Southern Oregon Scanner

MOTHER OF INDIVIDUAL STILL MISSING AT DILLON FALLS RELEASES PUBLIC STATEMENT

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office The mother of the individual still missing at Dillon Falls asked the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office to release the following statement on her behalf.
