Klamath County Sheriff's Office The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office is providing an important update regarding the incident involving former Deputy Jakob Brandt. On June 6, 2025, Deputy Brandt placed a 9-1-1 call from the Pilot Travel Center in Klamath Falls, claiming he had been kidnapped at gunpoint by three Hispanic males. In response, our agency, in collaboration with the Klamath Falls Police Department and Oregon State Police, initiated a thorough search and investigation. Surveillance footage and additional evidence soon revealed discrepancies in Deputy Brandt’s account of the incident. The investigation further determined that Deputy Brandt was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the call, resulting in his arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII).
