Forest Grove Fire & Rescue At 3:37 pm on Tuesday, August 6th, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a field fire in the 41400 block of NW Greenville Road near the community of Roy. Crews arrived minutes later to find approximately 2 acres burned in a cut wheat field with the fire continuing to spread towards uncut areas of the field. While crews were working on extinguishing front of the fire, it had spread through a drainage ditch and into an adjoining field with a barn nearby. At that time, incident command upgraded the incident to a second alarm to bring in additional resources. Due to quick actions of the firefighters on scene, they were able to quickly stop the fire from spreading. At 4:00 pm, the incident was deemed under control and additional responding units were cancelled. In total, it is estimated that the fire burned 5 acres of the field.
