SALEM POLICE VIOLENT CRIMES UNIT MAKES ARREST IN OCTOBER ROBBERY CASE

Salem Police Dept. SALEM, Ore. — On January 22, 2026, Tristan Brewster, 20, of Salem, was arrested in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on October 29, 2025. The arrest followed an investigation into a report where a man was threatened with a knife and had property stolen.     On the evening of October 29, the victim reported finding Brewster inside his vehicle. Brewster allegedly exited the vehicle with the victim's belongings and brandished a knife, claiming ownership of the items. The victim reported that Brewster fled the scene with cash, a cell phone, and other personal property.     On January 22, 2026, detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit contacted Brewster and he was taken into custody.     Brewster was lodged at Marion County Jail for Robbery in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. PORTLAND WOMAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS PRISON FOR DRUNK DRIVING DEATH THAT KILLED HER OWN CHILD

Multnomah Co. District Attorney's Office Portland, OR-Angelina Latisha Minor, 29-years-old, was sentenced to 125 months in prison today by Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Jenna Plank.    The defendant crashed her car while driving drunk with a blood alcohol reading three times the legal limit at .32%. At the time of the crash Ms. Minor was on supervision for a previous drunk driving case in 2023 and had yet another earlier drunk driving case in which she entered diversion in 2019. In the current case, the defendant pled guilty to Manslaughter in the Second Degree, two counts of Assault in Third Degree, and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.   Senior Deputy District Attorney Chris Shull handled the prosecution for the state. Passenger Truck Strikes, Kills Pedestrian in I-5 Exit 33 Onramp Crosswalk

Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 26-0344   CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – A 65-year-old Central Point man driving a passenger truck struck and killed a 48-year-old man in the crosswalk at the Interstate 5 Exit 33 northbound onramp Wednesday evening in Central Point. The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team is investigating the incident.   ECSO Dispatch received a report of a pedestrian struck at approximately 5:39 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21 at the intersection of Pine Street and the I-5 Exit 33 northbound onramp. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Central Point Police Department (CPPD), Jackson County Fire District 3, and Mercy Flights responded to the scene. The vehicle involved was a 2022 GMC Sierra.   Mercy Flights transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased approximately one hour after the crash. Bend Police seek suspect who cut high-voltage electrical wires

Bend Police Dept.   Bend Police are seeking the public’s assistance in a criminal mischief case that involved property damage to a utility box owned by Pacific Power.      At approximately 7:42 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, Bend Police received a report from Pacific Power that high-voltage electrical wires inside a power box located in the 20900 block of NE Talus Place had been cut overnight, likely with bolt cutters. The box is located behind a locked gate with a “no trespassing” sign on it.      Bolt cutters were found inside the power box. Pacific Power estimated the damage at $20,000 or more.      When officers arrived at the scene, the power box was hot and still smoking, and evidence at the scene indicated the attempt to cut through the wires had caused a fire and explosion.      It is likel...

GRESHAM POLICE ASK FOR PUBLIC’S HELP LOCATING MURDER SUSPECT AFTER ONE YEAR

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for assistance with locating the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred one year ago at a Gresham Park.   On Jan. 23, 2025, shortly after 4 p.m., Jorge Ovidio Mateo Vasquez, 17, was shot and killed in an apparent unprovoked attack while playing on the futsal court at Vance Park. Investigators identified the suspect, Camerino Vides, who is now 17, of Gresham, but have been unable to locate him.   Detectives are asking for the public’s help with locating Vides. The public is urged not to approach him as he may be armed. SALEM POLICE RESPOND TO TRAIN VS. PEDESTRIAN INCIDENT

Salem Police Dept. SALEM, Ore. — At 7:52 p.m. on January 21, 2026, officers were dispatched to a train versus pedestrian incident near the tracks at Rural Avenue SE and 13th Street SE.     Officers arrived on scene quickly and located the victim, a 31-year-old woman from Salem, who had suffered significant injuries. She was transported to Salem Hospital by Salem Fire medics, where she is receiving continuing care for her injuries.     Union Pacific Police have been notified of the incident and will be taking over the investigation. All further inquiries should be directed to them.  

TWO PORTLAND POLICE OFFICERS SHOT

Crime Stoppers of Oregon The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in the shooting of two Portland Police officers.   On the evening of January 19, 2026, officers responded to reports of a subject making threats with a weapon in the area of NE 21st Avenue and NE Clackamas Street, in Portland, Oregon. During the encounter, the suspect fired multiple shots at officers. Both officers were struck and later transported to a hospital for treatment and are currently listed in stable condition.   The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid-30's, facial hair, black baseball cap, black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes. WOMAN ARRESTED IN STABBING CASE

Grants Pass Police Department On January 21, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., the Grants Pass Police Department received a 911 call at a residence in the 1000 block of NE A Street.  The 911 calltakers heard a disturbance in the background while on the phone with the resident.  Patrol units responded to the scene and discovered the 39-year-old male had been stabbed in the upper body.  Grants Pass Fire/Rescue and American Medical Response personnel responded to provide medical treatment before transporting the male to Three Rivers Medical Center.  The male had significant injuries and is expected to recover.   Due to the seriousness of the case, the Grants Pass Major Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation around 9:00 p.m.  The detectives worked throughout the night until past 5:00 am to ensure a timely and effective investigation.  As a result of their work, Heidi Smith, a 42-year-old female, was taken into custody.  She was lodged at the...

Corvallis Woman Arrested on Theft and Criminal Mistreatment Charges

Corvallis Police Department  Corvallis, OR  – On January 21, 2026, at approximately 9:48 a.m., Corvallis Police Department detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of SW Kendra Street in Corvallis. As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested  Stacy R. Tindall , age 53, a Corvallis resident. Tindall was arrested on the following charges:   ORS 164.055 – Theft in the First Degree (three counts) ORS 163.205 – Criminal Mistreatment in the First Degree (two counts) ORS 165.055 – Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card The investigation determined that over a six-month period in 2025, Tindall unlawfully stole and used government-issued gift cards intended for her disabled clients to purchase food and other supplies.   U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A man from St. Helens, Oregon, was sentenced to federal prison yesterday for ordering live-streamed child sexual abuse and traveling to the Philippines to engage in illicit sexual activity while working as a firefighter for the Lake Oswego Fire Department.   Kenneth Green, 57, was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison and a lifetime of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $50,000 special assessment under the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act of 2018.   According to court documents, from 2017 through 2019, Green paid for and received livestreamed shows featuring the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in the Philippines. During the shows, Green gave child sex traffickers in the Philippines specific instructions on how to abuse the children and received child sexual abuse material from the traffickers. DEA Seattle Defendant Admitted Replacing Diverted Drugs with Saline, Impacting Treatment of More Than 200 Animals PORTLAND, Ore.  — Dr. Brenda Brown-Carlson, a Portland veterinarian, was sentenced to 60 months of supervised probation on January 13, 2026, in Multnomah County Circuit Court as part of a plea agreement. Brown-Carlson admitted to diverting controlled substances for her personal use and replacing them with saline, impacting the treatment of more than 200 animals at two veterinary clinics where she was employed. “DEA has a long-standing relationship of trust and partnership with veterinary providers who are authorized to handle and administer controlled substance to care for animals that are sick,” said Robert A. Death Investigation - Cottage Grove

Cottage Grove Police Department  On January 20, 2026 at about 5:30 AM officers with the Cottage Grove Police Department responded to a report of a male who was found on the ground, unconscious and bleeding in the 1500 Block of HWY 99 in Cottage Grove.  When officers arrived, they found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound.  Officers attempted CPR but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene after medics arrived. Witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots and seeing an unknown person wearing dark clothing running from the area.  No suspects have been identified or located at this time.  The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.          This is an active investigation and the Cottage Grove Police Department is being assisted by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.  If anyone has any information about this investigation, they are asked ...

Nathaniel is described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 96 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. DEPUTIES ARREST TWO JUNCTION CITY MEN STEALING VEHICLES FROM FOX HOLLOW AREA

Sheriff's Office On January 14th at 6 a.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a property in the 32400 block of Fox Hollow Road, south of Eugene, for a report of suspects stealing vehicles. Deputies searched the property and found two men sleeping in a pickup. They appeared to have been in the process of loading one of the victim’s vehicles on to their trailer.   The men were detained. FATAL VEHICLE CRASH - DRAIN

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office DRAIN, Ore.  - The Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash on Elkhead Road during the early morning hours of January 14, 2026.    Preliminary investigation indicates a 2001 Toyota RAV, driven by Donald Lawrence Brown, 89, of Drain, was traveling westbound on Elkhead Road when the vehicle drifted into the eastbound lane for reasons unknown. The Toyota collided with a 2025 Mazda four-door sedan driven by 72-year-old Patricia Hail Haley, also of Drain, who was traveling eastbound.    Mr. Brown was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Haley sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.    There were no initial indications that intoxicants were a factor in the crash. Gresham Police Dept Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing 14-year-old who was last seen leaving Gresham High School with a friend, in the 1200 block of N Main Ave.   Annabella Wimberly left school at 12:40 p.m. today and has not returned. She is described as a White female with brown hair, is 5-feet and 4-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.  Annabella was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie and was wearing a teal polka dot backpack. Annabella’s family is concerned about her well-being without supervision.   If anyone has information about Annabella’s whereabouts, they are asked to call 911.

Helicopter Crash – Update 02

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office  On January 15, 2026, at approximately 08:37am, The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received reports of an unknown crash near the 2800 block of Moonshine Park Rd in Logsden, OR. While enroute, Deputies learned the incident involved a helicopter, which crashed into a cow pasture. The crash did not physically harm nearby structures, individuals, or livestock. There is no ongoing threat to the community. Responders contacted the pilot onsite, who was the sole occupant of the commercially operated Bell JetRanger helicopter. The pilot suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for further evaluation and treatment.  The cause of the crash is still unknown and under investigation. The investigation has been turned over to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
