Business Burglary Investigation in La Pine

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 8, 2019, at approximately 5:43am, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary at the Wickiup Station Sports Pub in La Pine, located at 52600 Hwy 97, La Pine, OR 97739. Deputies and detectives were at the scene throughout the morning investigating and collecting evidence.  Investigators have been able to recover video surveillance that shows at least two suspects arriving and subsequently forcing entry into the business just after 4:00am this morning.  The suspects removed a safe from the business and then fled from the scene.  One suspect was wearing all black and the second suspect was wearing all black with white stripes on the sleeves of the jack.  Both suspects had backpacks and hid their faces using masks and caps. SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office MYRTLE CREEK, Ore.  - Detectives are investigating a shooting which took place Sunday night in the 14000-block of Old Highway 99 South.  At 8:01 PM, dispatchers received a report of a male who had been shot by a female. The male, sustained a life-threatening injury and was transferred to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. He was later transferred to an undisclosed hospital for further care.  The Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated and the investigation is continuing. There is no ongoing risk to the public.  No further details will be released at this time.

MARINE PATROL SEEKING INFORMATION FROM THE PUBLIC

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLIDE, Ore. - On Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 4:10 pm, Douglas County 9-1-1 received a report that a 9 year-old child observed a man in the North Umpqua River clinging to a log and yelling for help near Colliding Rivers viewpoint. The man was described as wearing a bright orange shirt.  The Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol Division responded along with resources from Search and Rescue, Douglas County Fire District #2 and Glide Fire Department. A search of the area was unsuccessful in locating the reported victim. Due to hazardous water flows, search efforts from boat had to be suspended for safety concerns. At this time, the Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public. Anyone who observed the incident who has not yet spoken to deputies is asked to call 541-440-4471. There have been no missing person reports from the area.

Lebanon Fire Rescues Two out of Flooded Area

Lebanon Fire District The Lebanon Fire District respond to the report of a water rescue near Gill’s landing on the South Santiam River. Upon arrival one person was located standing in ankle deep water. He was unable to get to dry land due to the rising water levels. Lebanon Fire crews made access to him using a rescue raft and he was assisted to dry land. He notified the rescue crews that there was another person who needed help and was unable to get out of the flooded area. The Linn County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene with a specialty rescue sled. LCSO and a rescue swimmer from LFD performed a search with the rescue sled and located the other person, and his dog. Using the rescue sled, they were able to rescue both the second person and the dog.  The area had several tents that were searched and no other people were located. Missing Person Investigation underway for missing Bend woman

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 6th, 2019 at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office received a report that Katrina Gagatko, of Bend was missing.  A co-worker and roommate of Gagatko's from Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living Facility said Gagatko was last seen leaving her work in Bend at 10:00 p.m. on 4/04/19.  Gagatko told her friend she going to meet with another friend in the Sisters area.  Gagatko later failed to show up for a scheduled work day and has turned her cell phone off.  Gagatko may be staying temporarily in the Sisters area at an unknown location.  Gagatko is described as being a white female, 43  years of age, 5' 3" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and having blond hair and blue eyes. Gagatko was last seen wearing a black zip up jacket, a blue polo shirt, black scrub style pants and blue Nike shoes,  Gagatko was last seen driving her 1988 GMC Sonoma pick-up that is black in color with red pin striping. 

Driver Hits Police Car, is Arrested for DUII

Portland Police Bureau On Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 3:02 A.M., two North Precinct officers were in the area of Northeast 79th Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard on a call of a suspicious person possibly casing cars. An officer witnessed a 1999 Toyota Camry driving with no headlights accelerating towards the other officer's car from behind. The Camry struck the police vehicle, causing significant damage. The officer was not seriously hurt. The driver and passenger in the Camry suffered minor injuries. The driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  Officers conducted a crash investigation and determined the driver of the Camry was impaired. Forty-year-old Jeremy J. Heisler (photo is from a previous arrest in 2017) was cited and released for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving, and misdemeanor Driving While Suspended or Revoked.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

California Fugitive apprehended by GPDPS K-9 after fleeing from Police

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Thursday, April 5th, 2019 at approximately 2:00 PM, a 911 call was received from a motorist that had just been involved in a crash on the Grants Pass Parkway, near NE F St.  The involved driver advised his car had been hit from behind by a purple Chevrolet Lumina, which had fled the scene of the crash. The suspect vehicle was last seen on the Grants Pass Parkway, headed towards SE M St.  Police witnessed the suspect vehicle go through the intersection of SE M and the Grants Pass Parkway, against a red light.  When police attempted to stop the vehicle it failed to yield, driving recklessly through the area of Parkdale and Fruitdale Dr.  Grants Pass Police, along with Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff's Office began searching the Fruitdale area, ultimately locating the suspect vehicle in the area of Mt. Baldy Rd. The suspect was able to elude officers, continuing outbound on Rogue River Hwy. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 

An Alfalfa Woman Arrested for DUII After Crashing Into a Parked Car While Eating a Burrito

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 6th, 2018 at approximately 1230AM, a citizen alerted a patrolling Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy about a nearby crash on the 800 block of Locksley Dr, in the City of Bend. The Deputy located the crash and determined a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Angela Lorraine Harley, age 40, of Alfalfa, Oregon, crashed into a parked 2007 BMW X3. The initial investigation determined that Harley was driving east on NE Locksley Dr while eating a burrito. Harley lost control of the Subaru, left the roadway and began driving on the sidewalk, before returning to the road and crashing to the parked BMW. There were no pedestrians in the area and the parked BMW was unoccupied during the crash. Harley was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Harley was arrested for DUII-Alcohol and lodged into the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Jail. It is believed her impairment was compounded by Distracted Driving. Eating while driving

RADE Heroin seizure / Arrests

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Wednesday, April 3rd, at around 5:00 PM, detectives with the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team (RADE) stopped Gabriel Manuel Rivera and Monique Quiroz after it was discovered they were bringing heroin to Grants Pass, OR via Sacramento, CA. It was determined the heroin was going to be distributed throughout Grants Pass and Josephine County. Seized during the stop was over a 1/2 pound of heroin, $1800 dollars in cash and drug notes. Street value of the heroin seized is estimated to be around $13,000 dollars. This investigation is ongoing. RADE was assisted by GPDPS, OSP and Homeland Security Investigators. Both Rivera and Quiroz were lodged at the Josephine County Jail for DCS/PCS heroin.

Officer Involved Shooting - March 9th (UPDATE)

Roseburg Police Dept.   On March 9th, 2019 law enforcement personnel from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon State Police were involved in a shooting on Grant Smith Road in Douglas County.  During that incident the suspect died, but due to a fire in the vehicle, the decedent was not able to be positively identified.  On March 20th, 2019 a Douglas County Grand Jury was convened and heard facts from the case.  That Grand Jury determined the Use of Force by law enforcement personnel was justified.  On March 21st, 2019, the District Attorney held a press conference and disclosed to the media the evidence supporting the Grand Jury's decision. This update is to inform you of the identity of the decedent, which was confirmed through DNA comparison.  The suspect has been positively identified by the State Medical Examiner's Office as 25 year old Kristopher Angel Haynes.  Next of kin have been notified.  Haynes was believed to be transient at the time of the i
