Suspect in Butler Road Shooting Arrested

  Lane Co. Sheriff's Office   On October 2, 2020 at 12:10 p.m. the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dispute at the 24700 block of Butler Road in the Elmira area. When deputies arrived, multiple shots were fired towards deputies from within the residence. At least one deputy returned fire as they retreated away from the home, thankfully uninjured.  The suspect continued to fire rounds from within the home in the direction of deputies. The Oregon State Police responded to assist as deputies continued to try to make contact with the suspect, identified as 68 year old Everett Raymond Rojas of Veneta.  Three people from another part of the home were safely evacuated using an armored rescue vehicle. Due to the nature of the call, the Lane County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT) responded along with additional armored rescue vehicles.  As SRT was trying to talk Rojas out of the house, he began firing from within the residence again towards deputies. DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE SHOOTING OUTSIDE OF OAKLAND

Sheriff's Office OAKLAND, Ore.  - Detectives are investigating a shooting which took place Friday morning in the 500-block of Yellow Creek Road.   On Friday, October 2, 2020, at 1:42 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers received two calls reporting a female had been shot. Deputies and detectives responded to the incident. The adult female victim, whose name is being withheld at this time, was transported by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.   A male suspect, 63 year-old Miles Charles Pakros, was interviewed and taken into custody. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail and lodged for Assault II.   Detectives are continuing the investigation. There is no ongoing threat to public safety.   No further details will be released at this time.

DEPUTIES FOIL NIGHTTIME 'HEMP HEIST'; FOUR SUSPECTS STOPPED WALKING DOWN HWY. 211 CARRYING UP TO 80 LBS. OF PURLOINED HIGH-CBD CANNABIS PLANTS

  Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies foiled a nighttime   "hemp heist" in progress -- interrupting four mud-covered suspects walking down Highway 211 in Molalla carrying bags (and pocketfuls) of high-CBD cannabis plants stolen from a nearby grow operation. (The suspects mistakenly thought they were stealing recreational marijuana. They now face Theft, Criminal Trespass charges.) At 3:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies and Molalla PD officers responded to a report of multiple subjects walking on S. Hwy. 211 near S. Palmer Rd. outside of Molalla. Authorities soon located four male subjects wearing dark clothing walking eastbound on Hwy. 211 in the eastbound lanes.  They were carrying large bags. A green leafy plant was protruding from the opening of at least one bag. Green leaves were poking out of the pockets of the subjects. Mud was caked on the subjects' feet and ankles. One subject was carrying a large bushel of plants

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 138W - DOUGLAS COUNTY

  Oregon State Police On Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at approximately 1:15 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel  responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 138W near MP 23A. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Rav, operated by Sara Myers (45) from Sutherlin, was westbound slowing to turn south (left) onto Dovetail Lane when an also westbound Honda motorcycle, operated by Keith Berry (34) from Sutherlin,  attempted to pass.  The Honda motorcycle crashed into the drivers side of the Toyota Rav.  Berry and his passenger, Caylla Ritchie (27) from Roseburg, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased. Myers was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.  OSP was assisted at the scene by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Sutherlin Police Department, Sutherlin Fire Department, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and ODOT.

OREGON STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING - MARION COUNTY

  Oregon State Police On Monday, September 28, 2020 at approximately 12:30 P.M., Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies responded to a hostage situation at 244 Juneva Place SE Salem, OR.   Deputies responding were able to establish communications with the suspect, identified as Jose Jesus Lopez-Tinoco (34) of Woodburn, in an attempt to resolve the situation peacefully. Upon hearing gunshots inside deputies forced entry into the residence in an effort to effect a rescue.  During the rescue one deputy fired a yet to be determined number of rounds.  Inside the residence deputies located Laura Rocio-Bustos (43) with a gunshot wound.  She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Deputies also located Diari Bustos-Bustos (24) deceased from a gunshot wound and an 11-year-old male deceased from a gunshot wound.  His name will not be released.   A 13-year-old male was rescued from inside the residence and uninjured.  His name will not be released. Fatal Hiking Incident - Tillamook County

  Oregon State Police On Sunday, September 27, 2020 at approximately 1:48 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a person who fell from a cliff, into the ocean, at Devil's Cauldron trail in Oswald West State Park. Preliminary investigation revealed two people walked down the Devil’s Cauldron trail to take a photograph at a cliff side viewpoint.  Steven Gastelum (43) of Seaside, climbed a tree on the cliff’s edge to pose for a photograph.  A limb broke, on the tree, causing him to fall approximately 100 feet into the ocean. US Coast Guard helicopter and Nehalem Bay Fire Department jet skis assisted in locating Gastelum and bringing him to shore. Gastelum was transported to Tillamook Regional Medical Center by ambulance where he was pronounced deceased.

ROSEBURG MAN ARRESTED ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

  Roseburg Police Dept. Approximately two weeks ago Roseburg Police Detectives began working a sexual assault investigation that allegedly occurred in Roseburg several years ago.  This investigation began when detectives were contacted by law enforcement officials from another state, where an alleged victim disclosed the previous abuse.  During the subsequent investigation detectives charged 62 year-old Roseburg resident Lawrence Walter Jackson with Sodomy in the First Degree and five counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.  Jackson was lodged at Douglas County Corrections on those charges. The victim in this case was a minor child who was known to the suspect.
