MAN SENTENCED TO 204 YEARS FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING TWO YOUNG GIRLS.

  Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports Michael Ray Long, 37, from Junction City, was sentenced today after being found guilty in a jury trial on February 5, 2021 of 22 counts of sex abuse-related crimes. He was convicted for sexually abusing two young girls when they were eight and twelve years old.  Long was sentenced to 204 years in jail for the following charges against the two children:  10 counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree, 3 counts of Sodomy in the First Degree, 3 counts of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree, 5 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree, and 1 count of Strangulation. Long was arrested on these crimes in October 2020 after an investigation into reports of inappropriate Facebook conversations with a 12-year-old female.  The investigation revealed the second, younger victim who disclosed she had been sexually abused by Long. Police looking to identify subject involved in Arson incident

Eugene Police Department On March 31, Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the 2200 block of W 7th Avenue for a fire that took place at All Seasons Equipment, and found information to suggest possible criminal activity as the cause. Eugene Police arson detectives responded to investigate the incident and received visual information of a man who was observed at the location before and after the incident.  Police are asking the public for help identifying the subject in the photos. UPDATE NAMES RELEASED - OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING INVESTIGATION - SALEM POLICE DEPARTMENT

  Oregon State Police On Friday, April 2, 2021 at approximately 5:15 P.M., Salem Police Officers and Salem Firefighters responded to the 400 block of Ewald Ave. SE on a report of a suicidal man,  identified as Natzeryt Viertel (22) of Salem , that had injured himself.   Firefighters arrived prior to officers and the man threatened them with a firearm. Officers arrived and the man, still armed, confronted them and  Corporal Clinton Sealey, member of the Salem Police Department for 9 ½ years , fired and hit Viertel.  Despite lifesaving attempts Viertel was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers or firefighters were injured in the incident.    Per standard protocols for the use of deadly physical force, the Marion County District Attorney’s Office has selected the Oregon State Police to lead the investigation. The involved officers have been placed on administrative leave in accordance with Salem Police Department directives.  Sergeant Steven Galvin (witness/involved did not shoot)

ATTEMPTED MURDER

  Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On Monday 04/05/2021 at approximately 0109 hours, Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 36000 block of Redwood Highway for a reported shooting incident which took place inside a residence.  Upon arrival, Deputies located a 45-year-old male victim who had been shot.  The victim was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital.  The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this incident and will provide updates if available.

Dean.  Nanci has dementia and was last seen in the area of Verizon on Union Ave. in Grants Pass.  Nanci left in a brown 2015 Mercedes Benz, Oregon plates of 852HZS.  Photos of Nanci are attached, as well as the vehicle she is believed to be operating. MALIK MUHAMMED CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER OF POLICE OFFICERS DURING RIOTS

  Multnomah County District Attorney's Office PORTLAND, Ore. – Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced that the grand jury has indicted Malik Muhammed, of Indiana, on allegations that Muhammed attempted to murder two police officers during separate riots in Portland by using explosive devices. The 28-count indictment, filed on March 22, 2021, charges Muhammed with the following crimes: Attempted aggravated murder (two counts); Attempted assault in the first degree (two counts); Attempted murder in the first degree (four counts); Attempted murder in the second degree (two counts); Criminal mischief in the first degree (six counts); Riot (four counts); Unlawful manufacture of a destructive device (two counts); Unlawful possession of a destructive device (two counts); Unlawful possession of a firearm (one count); Unlawful possession of a loaded firearm (one count); Unlawful use of a weapon (two counts).
