FATAL CRASH HIGHWAY 101- DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Thursday, February 9, 2023, at approximately 10:15 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near milepost 213. Preliminary investigation revealed a red Ford Mustang, traveling northbound on Highway 101, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a southbound red Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailered boat. The driver of the mustang, identified as Dustin Ray Fish (36) of Coquille, Oregon, was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The driver of the Silverado was transported to an area hospital with injuries. BANK ROBBERY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—On Feb. 7, at approximately 12:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a bank robbery with a gun, at Wells Fargo bank, at 110 NE Roberts Ave. The suspect was gone prior to police arrival. The initial suspect description was a white male in his early 20s, wearing a ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. He was described as approximately 5-foot 10-inches tall, and 150 pounds. The suspect was last seen leaving the bank out of the east doors. Video evidence collected at the scene of the robbery narrowed down the suspect description, and showed the suspect leaving the area in an Uber rideshare vehicle. A detective assigned to the case contacted additional witnesses, while additional investigators assisted with evidence collection and interviews. CONTACT LEADS TO AN ARREST AND DRUG SEIZURE- MARION COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at approximately 10:08 A.M., an Oregon State Police Trooper located a 2013 Hyundai SUV at the Santiam Rest Area off Interstate-5, near milepost 240. The Trooper, part of an OSP K-9 Team, made observations of the vehicle that led him to believe the driver was involved in criminal activity. After a conversation with the driver furthered the Trooper’s reasonable suspicion to believe criminal activity was occurring, a vehicle search was conducted. The Trooper located approximately 1.4 kilograms of fentanyl powder concealed in the vehicle. The driver, identified as Arlin Barahon-Erazo (18) from Oakland, California, was taken into custody and lodged in the Marion County Jail. Bandon Man Arrested For Burglary And Assault

Coos County Sheriff's Office On February 8 th , 2023 at 12:37 a.m. Sgt. S. Moore with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded an address on Two Mile Lane just South of the City of Bandon, to a report of an assault in progress at the location.  Sgt. Moore arrived on scene and learned the suspect, Andrew R. Davee (35) years of age from Bandon had already left the scene in a vehicle.  During an investigation Sgt. Moore spoke to the victim at the location who had a visible injury to his head, however he refused any medical treatment. The victim stated Mr. Davee had entered his residence by prying open the door with a metal pipe. Once inside the victim sated Mr. Davee threatened him with the metal pipe before striking him once with the pipe, in the right side of his head. Sgt. Moore developed probable cause (PC) for the arrest of Andrew R. Davee on the charges of burglary I, assault I and menacing. Sgt. FATAL PEDESTRIAN INVOLVED TRAFFIC COLLISION

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—ON Feb. 8, at approximately 5:49p.m., Gresham police officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian, in the 19100 block of SE Stark St. The adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash. ** UPDATE ** 4 ARRESTED AFTER DCSO STREET CRIMES UNIT LOCATES AN ACTIVE CLANDESTINE LAB DURING SEARCH WARRANT

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On February 8 th , 2023, at approximately 8:00 AM, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, executed a search warrant on the 1400 block of NE Tucson Way within the city of Bend. This home is a duplex with shared walls in a residential area.  This home and the occupants were the subjects of a long-term controlled substance investigation.  Deschutes County Sheriff SWAT Team members entered the home and encountered three adults. Unexpectedly, the SWAT Team also discovered an active clandestine lab alleged to extract   Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) was located on the property . Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is the prototypical indolethylamine hallucinogen.  Illicit DMT labs can require various volatile, highly flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixtures. FATAL CRASH HIGHWAY 58- LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at approximately 9:00 A.M., Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 58, milepost 59.  Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Honda Civic, driven by Cynthia Ann Waters (52) from Eugene, was eastbound when she lost control and struck a dump truck that was pulling a trailer. The dump truck driver, identified as Jesse Alan Rodolf (44) of Lakeview, was uninjured.  Cynthia Waters was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Icy road conditions are believed to be contributing factors in this crash. ARREST MADE IN SOLICITATION TO COMMIT MURDER CASE

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff’s Office received information on Friday, February 3 rd  of an attempted murder-for-hire plot. Investigator’s learned that 58-year-old John Robert Clarke had offered to pay a 3 rd  party an undisclosed amount of money to murder a person known to Clarke.  An extensive investigation determined probable cause to arrest Clarke for Solicitation to Commit Murder.  Clarke was taken into custody by Lane County Sheriff’s Office detectives and lodged at the Lane County Jail. CORVALLIS PD INVESTIGATING OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN ALBANY

Albany Police On February 8, 2023 at approximately 9:38am Albany Police Officers responded to a welfare check on a suicidal male at a residence in Southwest Albany. It was determined the male was armed and currently at Freeway Lakes, located on Three Lakes Rd, in his vehicle. Albany Police with the assistance of Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to contact the male in his vehicle. Family members were already at the scene attempting to communicate with the distraught male. A trained Crisis Negotiator was enroute to the scene.  Officers and Deputies attempted to diffuse the situation from a distance and asked the male to drop his weapon. Officers and witnesses saw the male subject armed with a pistol moving it to his head and down to his side. Officers and Deputies attempted to remove the family from the scene and get them to safety. BILLY LEE OATNEY CONVICTED OF MURDER FOR SECOND TIME IN THE 1996 DEATH AND SEXUAL ASSAULT OF SUSI LARSEN

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore . — On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Billy Lee Oatley, age 60, was convicted of Murder in the First Degree for the 1996 death and sexual assault of Susi Larsen — for the second time. Chief Deputy District Attorney Bracken McKey and Sr. Deputy District Attorney Andrew Freeman prosecuted the case before Judge Beth Roberts.  The victim, Susi Larsen, age 34, disappeared in August of 1996 after telling friends her plans to meet with Oatney, an acquaintance, about making jewelry for her wedding. Her body was found two weeks later near Champoeg State Park in Marion County. Oatney was convicted for Larsen’s death in 1998 but was granted a new trial after the Oregon Court of Appeals determined Oatney’s attorney did not provide adequate representation at trial. Joint Task Force Serves Child Porn Search Warrant at Licensed Marijuana Farm

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office TRAIL, Ore. – The Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) joint inter-agency task force served a search warrant this morning at a licensed marijuana farm in the 4700 block of Highway 227 in Trail. SOCET served the warrant after discovering numerous images of child exploitation were uploaded from a residence on the property. Detectives are interviewing possible witnesses and involved parties, and investigations are ongoing. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies, Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) detectives, and Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force (SOHTCTF) investigators assisted with the warrant service.   During the warrant investigators seized digital devices which will be forensically examined by SOHTCTF for further evidence of child exploitation. Aaron Howley In Custody

Coos County Sheriff's Office On 02/06/23 at approximately 6:00 pm, Aaron Howley, was located in Newport, Oregon and taken into custody.   At approximately 6:00 pm, a citizen, who had seen the press release on Facebook, spotted the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart in Newport, Oregon.  The citizen called Newport Police Department.  Newport officers responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle as well as Howley.  Howley was taken into custody on Coos Bay Police Department’s charges.  The owner of the stolen vehicle was contacted and arrangements were made to return the vehicle.  Howley was transported to Coos County Jail, where he was lodged on Burglary II, Criminal Mischief I, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Attempt to Elude in Vehicle, and Reckless Driving, he will be held in custody pending his court appearance.   The Coos Bay Police Department would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this matter.   Click Here To Download Our App

Dog Hit By Train

Roseburg Police Department On 02/06/2023, at about 6:30pm, officers with the Roseburg Police Department responded to the area of Gaddis Park for the report of dog that had been seriously injured.  The nature of the initial call sounded sinister, but through a thorough investigation it was learned the dog had been run over by a passing train. The owner of the dog was located and the dog was taken to Bailey Veterinary Clinic. Local law enforcement agencies have been inundated with inquiries about this incident and we wanted to clarify this was NOT an act of animal abuse, but an unfortunate accident.

DEPUTIES SEEKING INFORMATION IN ARMED ROBBERY

Hood River Co. Sheriff's Office HOOD RIVER, Ore.  - On Friday, February 3, 2023 at 6:05 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Marco Sports in the 1000 block of Highway 281 on the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Witnesses reported that a male subject had entered the business brandishing a handgun, ordering patrons and employees to the ground in fluent Spanish.  The suspect left on foot southbound with cash that he had stolen from the business.  No one was injured in the robbery. The suspect is described as a tall, large, Latino male, over 200 pounds, in his 20’s or 30’s, who spoke Spanish in a deep voice, with what witnesses believed may have been an accent from the State of Jalisco.  He was wearing a black Nike hoodie pulled tightly around his face with a black and white bandana, black Nike pants, and black and white Nike shoes.  The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information in this case contact the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 541 38

** UPDATE 2/6/23 ** LARGE ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROW CONTROLLED BY CARTEL DISMANTLED IN ALFALFA

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On Friday, February 3rd, 2023, the Deschutes County Illicit Marijuana Enforcement Team made an additional arrest in the case of the Alfalfa marijuana grow operated by and affiliated with a foreign Mexican drug cartel. Most laborers found working on the grow site were Mexican nationals and illegally trafficked into the United States to work in the illegal marijuana trade involuntarily. The laborers were found living in primitive wooden structures and dome tents with limited clean water sources and dumping wastewater directly into the soil.   At the scene, Denise Elaine Johnson, of Bend, Oregon was arrested for illegally manufacturing marijuana plants and cannabinoid products. Ms. Johnson has since pled guilty to the charges in the Deschutes County Circuit Court.  Detectives identified several additional people involved with this case as suspects. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) Throughout the end of January detectives assigned to the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) conducted multiple investigations over a ten-day period involving individuals distributing fentanyl throughout the community.   On January 19, 2023, DINT investigated a case which resulted in the seizure of approximately 53.8 grams of fentanyl.   On January 20, 2023, DINT conducted two investigations which resulted in the seizure of approximately 5 grams of fentanyl and a separate seizure of 40 grams of fentanyl.   On January 21, 2023, DINT investigated a case which resulted in the seizure of approximately 40 grams of fentanyl.   On January 25, 2023, DINT investigated a case which resulted in the seizure of approximately 57.9 grams of fentanyl.   On January 29, 2023, DINT investigated a case which resulted in the seizure of approximately 92 grams of fentanyl.   In total over the ten-day period DINT seized approximately 288.7 grams (10.18 ounces) o

Vehicle Theft/Pursuit in Coos County

Coos County Sheriff's Office  On Monday, February 6, 2023 at approximately 0631 hours, Coos Bay Officers were dispatched to Graham Bay Area Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Dealership, located at 1400 Ocean Blvd for a report of an alarm.  When they arrived, they observed a male subject, later identified as 45 year old Aaron Bruce Howley of Coos Bay, inside the business attempting to steal a vehicle.  Moments later, officers observed Howley back a white 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with Oregon license plate, EMYL0U, through one of the closed bay doors and then sped off.  Coos Bay Officers initiated a pursuit with the vehicle but, later discontinued the pursuit, due to public safety concerns.  The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Highway 101 near the Hauser truck scales.   Coos Bay Officers were assisted by Officers from the North Bend Police Department.          Any individuals who may have additional information pertaining to this investigation are encouraged to call the Coos Bay Police D
