POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL HIT-AND-RUN

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.—A hit-and-run traffic crash resulted in Gresham’s first traffic fatality this year. At approximately 3:30 a.m., Gresham police officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a person who had been struck by at least 2 vehicles and was down in the road at Burnside and N Main Ave. Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined that the person was deceased. No vehicles remained at the scene of the crash. The East Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team (VCT) was called to the scene to investigate the crash. Burnside Rd. was closed in both directions between N Main Ave. and Eastman Pkwy. until just after 8:00 a.m. Anyone who drove through the area around the time of the crash and may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the Gresham Police Tip-Line at 503-618-2719.                       Click Here To Download Our App

HUMAN REMAINS LOCATED IN VACANT FIELD NEAR LANDFILL DETERMINED TO BE A DISPOSAL ERROR

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office On January 21 st , 2024, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of possible human remains located near the Knott Landfill. The reporting party had been walking a number of dogs in a field across 27 th  Street from the Knott Landfill when one of the dogs returned with what initially appeared to be a portion of a human foot. Deputies responded to the location and secured the item which was determined to indeed be a portion of a human foot. Investigators contacted numerous agencies to assist with the peculiar case. The State of Oregon Medical Examiner’s Office, Oregon State Police Forensic Anthropology Unit, Deschutes County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office all assisted with helping identify how the human remains could end up in a vacant field near the landfill. Investigators have determined the partial remains are not suspicious in nature and more likely than not is a result of a

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING SENDS SEVEN-YEAR-OLD TO HOSPITAL

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office On January 28 th , 2024, at approximately 2:30 pm, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of an apparent gunshot wound. Initial reports detailed a 7-year-old male was accidentally shot while a family member was manipulating a handgun. During the course of the investigation, it was learned Roy Ipock was manipulating a handgun in the living room of his residence. His 7-year-old son was in the room as well when the firearm discharged a round striking him in the area of his armpit. The 7-year-old was transported to St. Charles Bend, and eventually to a Portland area hospital where he is currently in stable condition. Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Detectives assisted with the investigation, interviewing all subjects present, applying for and being granted a search warrant for the residence, collecting evidence related to the investigation. Update on Homicide at Laundromat on Crater Lake Avenue

Medford Police Dept. Throughout the day of Sunday, Jan 28, MPD Detectives have been actively working this case and attempting to locate the suspect in the shooting that occurred on the evening of 01/27/23 at the Weldon’s Laundromat on Crater Lake Avenue. As a result of that investigation, two search warrants were served at different locations as detectives attempted to locate the suspect and possible evidence in this case. At about 8:00AM, detectives and members of the Medford Police Department SWAT team served a search warrant in the 400 block of Fairmount Street. The suspect was not located. Then, at 3:35PM, SWAT team members and detectives served another search warrant in the 1400-block of Thomas Road. Agan, the suspect was not located.  In attempts to locate the suspect in this case, we are releasing the name and photograph of the suspect in hopes that someone with information will call us.  SUSPECT : Jesus Armando Pena Jr. (18 years old). Sheriff’s Office Detectives On Scene Investigating White City Shooting, Victim in Critical Condition

Jackson County Sheriff's Office JCSO Case 24-0520 WHITE CITY, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives are on scene investigating a shooting in White City. JCSO deputies responded to a call for gunshots and someone calling for help this evening at 6:51 p.m in the area of 29th Street and Avenue G in White City. The suspect fled the scene and is currently on the run. The victim is in critical condition at a local hospital.  Investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other and there is no known danger to the general public. MISSING PERSON FROM CULP CREEK

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office *UPDATE* - 01/27/24  Stone’s pickup was located Saturday approximately 12 miles up Layng Creek Road behind miles of downed timber.  Evidence indicates his vehicle became stuck and he continued on foot.   Sheriff’s Search & Rescue (SAR), Detectives, Patrol Deputies, and friends and family searched miles of roads in the area surrounding Stone’s residence since he went missing.  Additionally, outside agencies assisted with checking Stone’s other properties throughout the state.  As other areas were narrowed down, the focus became Layng Creek Road.  SAR volunteers worked on sawing through downed trees on Friday until dark.  Saturday, friends and family continued working saws up the road, ultimately locating Stone’s pickup and notifying the Sheriff’s Office.  SAR conducted ground search operations, and plan to continue searching, including the use of SAR K9 teams, until he is found.   The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the many volunteers, friends, an

SHOOTING IN N. PARK AVENUE AREA

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On Saturday morning around 7 AM, two young males opened fire with handguns at a passerby in a vehicle who asked them to move out of the roadway in the area of Nantucket Avenue and N. Park Avenue.  The vehicle was struck multiple times, and the driver was nearly struck as well.  The incident was captured on video by an area resident, which was later shared to Facebook and widely circulated.   Deputies identified a suspect and set up surveillance at a nearby residence in the 1300 block of Keller Street while applying for a search warrant.  Once the search warrant was granted, the Lane County Sheriff’s Special Response Team served the warrant.  Evidence was located that quickly led to the arrest of one suspect, and identification of the second suspect.  The arrested suspect, a juvenile, was transported to the Lane County Youth Services detention facility on charges of Attempted Assault 1 and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, both felonies.  Detectives are actively wo

Medford Police On Saturday, January 27 at about 5:50 p.m. we responded to the report of shots fired at a laundromat on the 600 block of Crater Lake Avenue. Patrol Officers were on scene within two minutes and discovered a male with multiple gunshot wounds inside the laundromat. This victim was pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives were called to the scene and have been working this case overnight.  At this time, we are not releasing the name of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the shooting as this is an active and ongoing investigation. We have been unable to contact next-of-kin.  There is no further information at this time and additional details will be released as they become available. K9 ZORO APPREHENDS WANTED MAN WHO FLED FROM POLICE

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - K9 Zoro tracked and apprehended a man with multiple felony warrants who fled from police Thursday afternoon. On January 25, 2024, at 12:13 pm, Officers with the Roseburg Police Department responded to a residence in the 1900 block of SE Douglas Avenue believing that 24-year-old Devin Goodman was there. Goodman, of Roseburg, had multiple warrants for his arrest and was reported to be possibly armed. When officers arrived, they observed Goodman flee from the back of the residence and gave chase. K9 Zoro from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded and searched the area. K9 Zoro located Goodman hiding in heavy brush. He attempted to push K9 Zoro back and refused to comply with commands. K9 Zoro apprehended Goodman who was taken into custody by officers. Goodman was evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries and was lodged in the Douglas County Jail. K9 Zoro, a 6-year-old German Shepherd, has been with the Douglas County Sheriff
