Two Vehicle Crash Injures Two on US 97 Near Highway 31 in Klamath County

On March 29, 2018 at approximately 7:25am, OSP Troopers responded to a two vehicle injury crash on US 97 at the junction of Highway 31 in Klamath County, Oregon. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup was traveling southbound and making a left turn onto Highway 31. The male operator and lone occupant of the vehicle turned directly into the path of a white 2007 Hyundai Accent 4-door operated by a lone male operator. The crash then occurred in the northbound lane of Hwy 97. Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest at this location. The driver of the pickup was transported to St. Charles in Bend with injuries. An air ambulance was dispatched for the driver of the white Hyundai who was flown to St. Charles in Bend with injuries. Highway 97 and 31 were blocked for approximately 1 hour. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Airlink, Lapine Fire District and the Crescent Fire Medics.
