Police investigating shooting - UPDATE

Salem Police Dept. - 04/30/18 
On April 29, 2018, Jennifer Krause, age 40, of Salem was driving on Vinyard AV NE when her vehicle was shot by the occupants of a passing vehicle. Krause sustained injuries from the shooting and was treated and released from Salem Health. Based on the investigation, Casey Wicker, age 24, of Salem was identified as a possible suspect. Wicker was located by Salem Police officers later in the evening and subsequently arrested for Assault 2 and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The victim and suspect are known each other and investigators believe this was not a random assault. Detectives are continuing to investigate this case. No further information is being released.

On April 29, 2018 at approximately 6:00 pm, the Salem Police Department received a call of a shooting. Officers responded to the 900 block of Vinyard Ave NE and located an adult female who had been shot. Due to her injuries the female was transported by medics to the Salem Hospital. Officers secured the scene and detectives were called in. At this time no suspects are in custody. This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be released when more information becomes available.
