*Updated-Driver Arrested* Hit and Run Crash on Skyline Ranch Rd., Vehicle of Interest Sought

On June 25, 2018, the driver of the truck that struck the bicyclist in the area of Skyline Ranch Road and Macalpine Road turned himself into detectives in the lobby of the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office in Bend. Travis J. Roberts of Bend contacted detectives and was subsequently arrested on charges of Assault III, Fail to Perform the Duties of a Driver to Injured Persons - Felony, and Reckless Driving. He was then lodged in the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Adult Jail.
The truck involved in this crash, a blue 1997 Toyota Tacoma, has been located and seized as evidence.
The passenger in the truck, Zachary J. Krause of Bend, has also been contacted and interviewed by detectives.

Based on video surveillance recovered from the area around the time of this crash, the Deschutes County County Sheriff’s Office is releasing three images this afternoon of a vehicle of interest in this crash.   The vehicle was observed on video surveillance in the area and matches the description of the suspect vehicle as described by a witness.    Anyone with information as urged to call Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.

On June 23, 2018, at approximately, 1030 hours, deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded to area of Skyline Ranch Road and Macapline Road for a report of a Hit and Run, vehicle versus bicyclist. .  Information gathered from witnesses on scene found a blue mid-sized pick-up truck with a white canopy had stuck a bicyclist and fled the scene.  The make and model of the vehicle is unknown but reported to be similar in size to a Dodge Dakota.  There were no other physical observations made in relation to the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was last seen northbound on Skyline Ranch Road towards Skyliners Road.  The vehicle was reportedly occupied by two subjects, with the passenger having long hair.  No other description was obtained on the subjects involved.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating the vehicle and suspects involved in the incident.  Anyone with information is urged to call non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
