Arrest Made in Yesterday's Shooting

Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police arrest suspect of a shooting that struck three homes and a business. Yesterday around 5:15 p.m., police responded to the report of shots heard in the area of NE 188th Ave. and NE Glisan St. Officers then located shell casings at the location. During the shooting, three occupied homes and a business were struck. Fortunately, no one was injured. Police say a black van or SUV with tinted windows and a broken rear or side window may be involved.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers located a similar vehicle which immediately fled. After a vehicle pursuit, the occupants ran on foot. Following a short foot pursuit, officers were able to take 18-year-old Ny’Shaun Edwards and 18-year-old Niko Thomas into custody.


After further investigation, Edwards was charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a weapon, attempt elude in a vehicle, attempt elude on foot, reckless driving, and two counts of hit and run. Thomas was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and a probation violation.
