Motorcyclist dies in collision with tree Hwy 126E - Lane County

On Monday September 24, 2018, at approximately 7:06 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a motorcycle crashed into a tree.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a gray 1984 Honda motorcycle, operated by Roy K. Smith (64) of Eugene, was traveling westbound on Hwy 126E near Cedar Flat Rd. when for an unknown reason the motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Smith sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
OSP was assisted by the Lane Co Sheriffs' Office, ODOT, and Eugene-Springfield Fire Department.
