Bend, OR – Four people arrested after a brief vehicle pursuit, crash into a railway embankment and foot pursuit. DCSO Deputies later recovered a stolen pistol, methamphetamine and heroin during their arrests.

On October 8, 2018 a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was driving in the area of SE Wilson Ave and SE Third St in the City of Bend. At the same time, the Deputy noticed a brown Nissan Altima began driving suspiciously through a parking lot and avoiding the patrolling DCSO Deputy.

The Altima left the retail shopping center parking lot without yielding to oncoming traffic on Third St. The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop for the violation. The Nissan sped away before quickly turning onto SE Miller Ave. The Nissan came to a stop when turned into a dead end right-of-way used by Burlington Northern Railway. It appeared the Nissan was trying to cross up and over the railroad tracks. After the car came to rest on the railroad embankment, the driver and his three passengers all fled in different directions throughout the neighborhood.

Additional Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Bend Police Officers converged on the scene and quickly located the driver, Lonnie Michael Fosburg, age 29, of Bend running from the scene. He was arrested after a brief struggle with DCSO Deputies. DCSO Deputies located a user amount of controlled substances in his possession.

The passengers, Michael Vincent Dorazio, age 44 of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cheyenne Porter, age 20 of Bend and Bobby BJ Moody, age 39 of Prineville, OR, were all captured without incident.

Lonnie Fosburg was later transported to St. Charles Bend for a medical evaluation prior to being lodged at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Adult Jail.

During the investigation, a stolen pistol was found inside the Nissan. The pistol was stolen in a May 2018 during a residential burglary in Redmond, OR.
