Two Seaside High School students arrested for possession of a firearm

Seaside, Ore. – February 27, 2019 – On February 27, 2019, Seaside Police arrested a male juvenile, 14, of Seaside for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Theft I (firearm), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Disorderly Conduct II.  A second male juvenile, 15, of Seaside was also arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Disorderly Conduct II.  The juveniles were both transported to the Seaside Police Department and both are being detained by the Clatsop County Juvenile Department. 

This investigation was initiated by a concerned Seaside High School student who witnessed a serious safety concern and reported to school staff.  The school administration contacted the police department immediately and the cooperation between school staff and law enforcement led to the arrests being made.  

This case remains under investigation and due to juveniles being involved more details of the case, including names, are not being released at this time.  
Thank you to the concerned student who had the strength to stand up and report this serious safety concern to school staff and we commend you for a job well done.
