Detectives Arrest Mental Health Technician on Sex Abuse Charge

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office

On March 26, 2019, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office by arresting a Portland man accused of sexually abusing a patient at a mental health hospital near Beaverton.

Detectives say Christopher Zeisler, 28, was employed as a Mental Health Technician when he sexually abused a female patient he was caring for while working the night shift.

Video surveillance showed that Mr. Zeisler spent an unusual amount of time in the patient’s room.

Mr. Zeisler began working at Cedar Hills Hospital in October 2018. When Cedar Hills Hospital administrators learned of the investigation, they immediately placed Mr. Zeisler on administrative leave. The hospital has fully cooperated with investigators. Mr. Zeisler is no longer employed at the hospital.

Mr. Zeisler was booked into the Washington County Jail on a single charge of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, an Oregon Measure 11 charge. His bail is set at $250,000.

Detectives believe other patients may have been victimized. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call detectives at 503-846-2500.
