Man Dies in White City Motorcycle Crash

WHITE CITY, Ore. – A man died at the hospital Tuesday afternoon from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle crashed into the side of a semi-truck.  Nobody else was injured.

On March 26, 2019, at 2:22 p.m., dispatch received a 911 call reporting the crash in the 2600-block of Avenue G.  An eastbound motorcycle struck the side of a BioMass One truck and trailer that was crossing Avenue G at a driveway access.  The caller told dispatch that the motorcycle had been traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. 

The motorcycle operator was transported by ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center (RRMC) where he later died of his injuries.  The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.

Members of the multi-agency Special Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team responded to investigate the crash.  Employees with Jackson County Roads assisted with traffic control.  A half-mile stretch of Avenue G was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation. 

The identities of the involved drivers and further details regarding the crash will be released at a later time.
