Sheriff's Deputies Arrest TriMet Driver for DUII

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office

On Friday, June 7, 2019, at 8:57 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies serving the City of Cornelius responded to two reports of a TriMet bus swerving within the travel lane. The callers reported the bus was travelling east on SW Baseline Road in Cornelius. It was also reported the bus served so far out of its lane, it forced a driver in the adjoining lane out of their lane as the bus continued toward Hillsboro. The bus was “out of service” and the driver was the only person on the bus.

TriMet contacted the driver, later identified as 46-year-old Vanessa Krinker from NW Portland, and had her stop the bus. Sheriff’s Deputies contacted Ms. Krinker at SE Maple Street and 10th Street in Hillsboro. Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a DUII investigation and subsequently arrested Ms. Krinker for DUII and Reckless Driving. She was lodged in the Washington County Jail on $2500 bail and has since been released.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this case. The investigation is continuing while toxicology tests are completed and video evidence is gathered.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the alert members of the public for calling 911 and TriMet for their complete cooperation with this incident.
