Arson Investigation

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety

On July 16th, 2019 at about 8:00 PM, Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Police and Fire Rescue responded to 754 NW 2nd St in regards to a small travel trailer on fire in the driveway. The first units arrived less than three minutes after the initial call to find the trailer fully involved and smoke visible from several blocks away.

The fire was quickly extinguished by GPDPS Fire Rescue with only the trailer being destroyed and no injuries reported.

Witness statements described a female leaving the trailer prior to the 911 call. Officers checking the area located Elise Degraffenreid nearby. Elise was known to frequent the location.

GPDPS Major Crimes Detectives and Fire Marshall responded and conducted an investigation. Upon completion of their investigation, Elise was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Arson 2 and Tampering with Evidence.

The total value of the damage to the trailer has yet to be determined.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety would like to thank the citizens of Grants Pass for their diligence and continued assistance.
