Bend Man Arrest for Delivery LSD to a Minor

Bend Police Dept.

On October 11th, 2019 a Bend Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) received information regarding a Bend-Lapine Schools student providing LSD, a Schedule I Controlled Substance, on campus to another student.

Throughout this investigation, the SRO was able to determine an adult male had recently sold the LSD to the Bend-Lapine Schools student.  Using a variety of investigative techniques, Joshua Rivas was identified as the suspect and agreed to sell LSD to a Bend Detective who was posing as a local high-school aged student.  Rivas continued to communicate and agreed to deliver LSD even after knowing the intended buyer was in high school.

The SRO and Bend Detectives contacted Rivas after he arrived in the area of 61545 S Hwy 97 to deliver the LSD.  Rivas was found to be in possession of eight (8) suspected LSD tabs and was armed with a large fixed blade knife.  Rivas was taken into custody and transported to the Bend Police Department until the SRO was able to obtain a search warrant for Rivas’ residence located at 90 SW Hayes Ave, Bend, Oregon.  Bend Detectives, a Patrol Officer and the SRO executed the warrant as Rivas was transported to the Deschutes County Adult Jail where he was lodged on the above listed charges.
