Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Powellhurst - Gilbert Neighborhood, PPB Detectives Seeking Publics Help

On April 10, 2020 at approximately 7:04 a.m. a community member was struck by a vehicle in the 2600 block of Southeast 136th Avenue.


East Precinct officers learned the victim of this incident had confronted a suspected car thief. The suspected car thief got into a vehicle and then drove the vehicle intentionally at the victim.

The victim was struck by the vehicle and was injured as a result. The injuries are reported to be serious, which include a broken rib. The vehicle further damaged property at this location as it fled the area.

During the investigation detectives were able to create a composite sketch of the suspect (Photo). The suspect is described as a 40 year-old white male. He had dark hair and is thought to be about 5'8" with a trim build.

It was also learned the suspect vehicle is a gold 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, license plate number YUR384. The vehicle will have front end damage. The photo of the Jeep provided is not the actual vehicle but the same make, model, and year.

Detectives are seeking information about the suspect and the vehicle.
