Suspect Arrested After Multiple Armed Robberies Related to Facebook Marketplace

Between September 2019 and April 2020, Robbery Detectives have been investigating a string of armed pedestrian robberies at or near the intersection of North Albina Avenue and North Blandena Street. The robberies involved seven victims and four individual robberies. During the robberies the suspect presented a handgun to steal and retain the victims' property. Three of the robberies occurred during meetings to buy/sell property via Facebook Marketplace.


On April 24, 2020, the Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and Robbery Detectives executed an arrest warrant and search warrant at the residence of 19-year-old Jarone T Walker in the 4700 block of North Mississippi Avenue. A loaded handgun was recovered inside the residence. Walker was taken into custody at the scene.

Walker has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with four counts of Robbery in the First Degree.

Robbery Detectives continue to investigate Walkers involvement in additional robberies.
