UPDATE: MAJOR CRIMES TEAM ACTIVATED

SUTHERLIN, Ore. - Investigators have released additional details in the shooting which took place on Saturday at the Sutherlin Relax Inn
Detectives say that 39 year-old Roseburg resident Nicholas Jermaine Holloway went to the Relax Inn and confronted his estranged wife, 34 year-old Carolina Montano Barragan, also of Roseburg. 

Holloway opened fire on Barragan with a handgun, striking her multiple times. Holloway then turned the gun on himself in the parking lot of the motel. 

Upon the arrival of emergency responders, Barragan was alive and transported to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment. She is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive. Holloway was declared deceased at the scene. 

The investigation is being lead by the Sutherlin Police Department who is being assisted by the Douglas County Major Crimes Team. The completed investigation will be forwarded to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office for review. 

No further information is expected to be released.
