Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety

On 10/31/2020, at approximately 2245 hours, officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to the 1300 block of Willow Lane for a report of a large physical fight outside, described as a “brawl”. As officers were approaching, additional 911 calls were received reporting gun shots and fleeing vehicles. GPDPS Patrol, assisted by Oregon State Police and the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, arrived to find a large crowd of intoxicated adults in the roadway, on the sidewalks, and in the parking lot of the apartment complex in the 1300 block of Willow Lane.

A 22 year old male was located and found to have a single gunshot wound to his lower leg.  He was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for his non-life-threatening injury and later released.

GPDPS Detectives responded to the scene to assist. At this time, suspect(s) have not been identified and the investigation is on-going.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Detective Lidey at 541-450-6260.  Additionally, the Department of Public Safety would like to thank those citizens who called 911 reporting the incident and providing the initial information.
